I visited this store on 25 June 2026 at around 5:15 pm to raise a concern under the Australian Consumer Law regarding a faulty product that stopped working within a reasonable period of time.nnUnfortunately, I was not satisfied with how my issue was handled. I found the store manager I dealt with to be dismissive and unwilling to properly listen to my concerns. I also requested the decision and reasoning in writing, which was refused.nnI expected a more professional approach and clearer communication, especially when dealing with a consumer rights issue. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
Now I understand why this store has so many bad reviews, especially their photo & printing service. My husband, my baby and I just got our passport photos taken here yesterday and the customer service is such a nightmare!! The lady who served my family, Suzie, was so in a rush to her tea time that she was really pushing us while taking photos, did not tell us what to do, didn't let us have a chance to fix our hair, face, position, didn't even tell us she's about to take the photo. Her attitude is like she is so done with us, barely enjoy doing what she's doing. I don't even think she wants to be there. She also didn't want us to check the photos she took and very unwillingly show us but in a very poor manner, the only way we can properly see our photos were to wait for the link sent through to our email , but then she kept rushing us to pay by annoyingly repeating the amount we owes. What a dissappointing service!! I took my passport photos at Waurn Ponds store before and the staff were so lovely and service was amazing. Will never be back to this Geelong store and do not recommend anyone to use their printing service here!
Really bad experience, ill keep this short. Very judgy staff and the moment i said im using afterpay, started judging after that and even asked me later that “if i have enough funds” went to buy a laptopnnBad experience and the lady at the billing counter needs to learn how to talk to a customer.
Refused to refund faulty laptop and insisted it was store policy to deny refund on the spot.nnThere today helping a family member refund a faulty laptop. Bought as a Christmas present it lasted three weeks until stopped working. They sent it off for repair and then it lasted under five weeks before dying again, won't even boot up.nnIn store, the acting store manager Cassie immediately tried on arguing that they would not process a refund because it was store policy for them to send it off to a third party for assessment.nnThis is not how consumer law works in Australia. A major fault like this has only three solutions - repair, replace, refund, and it's the customer's choice. It's on the spot too. Not ten days later, not after some imaginary process Officeworks has made up that does not comply with the law.nnAh but Cassie wanted to argue, repeating over and over it was store policy. When told it was illegal and she was breaking the law she just repeated it again.nnActually had to stand there arguing with her before off she goes to call Mark, the actual store manager.nnWhen she returns she states they are only giving the refund to get rid of us!nnHow incredibly insulting. Absolutely disgusting gross behaviour.nnI hope one day Consumer Affairs and the ACCC come down on Officeworks like a tonne of bricks for their illegal behaviour.nnJust for Officeworks - you don't get to make up some internal procedure that delays a customer getting a refund for a faulty product.nnOh, and by the way on the previous visit they lied to my family member and claimed that even if a serious problem they'd only be able to get store credit. Again, illegal.nnWhat an absolutely horrible experience. I've bought laptops before from Officeworks and will never again. Stay away from anything expensive because they will lie about your consumer rights and so everything in their power to deny a refund.
