OHO assessors have no medical or legal qualifications yet they're making decisions about medical cases!  My surgeon deliberately lied in his response and neither OHO or the Ombudsman's office was interested, saying it was "irrelevant". Nothing has changed since the Jayant Patel/Bundaberg Hospital days.

I made a complaint because I was genuinely mistreated, misdiagnosed and poorly examined by a large number of MD's, a couple specialists and even in a couple hospital emergency rooms. I made it very clear that I wasn't wanting anything personally from the complaint but for these doctors to acknowledge the consequences of their actions; that I just want to help fix this broken system just a little bit so that others have less chance of suffering like I have at the hands of incompetent and uncaring people who should never have become doctors in the first place. 

After an "investigation" my complaint was eventually not found in my favor because none of the doctors admitted to any wrongdoings in their medical reports. This was despite the evidence I provided that proved without a shadow of a doubt that these doctors did act wrongfully. Basically if you want to become a corrupt lying doctor that causes more harm than good to their patients then feel safe and secure knowing that the QLD Health Ombudsman has your back.

The OHO in my experience has no actual power to enforce anything, all they can do is act as a gatekeeper between your complaint and AHPRA. There yearly reports even show how few cases actually get referred to AHPRA, less than 14%, and those that are referred are because the police are involved. AHPRA has openly criticised OHO for not letting cases proceed. There has been a parliamentary inquiry but they have not yet released the finding. The OHO may be disbanded soon.

This office is a waste of tax payer’s dollars. What does this office do for an individual??? I went to see a Physiologist Practice, due to car accident.  Which had nothing to do with my work. The stupid Practice fax through an invoice to my work.
Which had nothing to do with my work, as this happened in my private time. In my mind, there is a Clear breach of Privacy. So even though I had a letter from the Insurance company saying they had not released any of my Private details.
So again, a clear stuff up from the practice! Yet this office cannot do anything. Who are they here to support / regulate? Because clearly, they are doing JACK…. For us every “Aussies”

Apparently there is a 10 minute time limit to explain the details of what happened if you want to report a complaint over the phone but the woman didn't tell me until 10 minutes passed, so now I have to start again in writing and I was trying to do it on the phone because I was sexually assaulted in the hospital and it's too triggering to put all the detail in writing about what happened and the horrible, horrible nurse who refused to help and mocked me after.
