After using the services of Norwest layers for over 3.5 years I feel able to write a qualified review.

I will first say that I hold no bad feeling towards Norwest lawyers, but If I was able to read a review before becoming involved with them. I would have been forewarned of how they run they’re business. And I would never have become involved with them.

Initially I met with George Draca, who is the principle lawyer.
I met him 3 or 4 times before I signed a contract. 
regarding an injury I suffered in 2011
Once I signed a contract with them,  they appeared to slack off to the point of being at standstill.

At the meeting of signing the contract the lawyer told me it would take a month to write a statement of claim,
 it took 7 times longer than he estimated  and the lawyer refused to take or return my calls in the 7 month period.
Over the course of the lawsuit George Draca would book meetings to discuss the case. 
Unfortunatley it became common practice where he didn't show up to the meeting he had arranged.
After driving 90 minutes to arrive at his office to be told " sorry he has gone out. can you come back another day"
I found this extremely unprofessional that he didn’t show up to a meeting which he had arranged. There was no phone call to advise the meeting was cancelled..
It was somewhat surreal as he would never  acknowledge or apologise for not showing up to the meeting he would arrange.

At the outset of this case I was told it was no win no fee.
However fees were charged from the outset and crept up insidiously.
In 2014 alone I was billed approximately $14,000 form Norwest lawyers.

In July of 2014 I was called to the lawyers office and told by George Draca that for my case to continue I had to give him $7500

When I later called him and asked him to put a bill in writing he became aggressive and said 
“Are you saying you want to put in writing what I have already told you verbally? If you think I am trying to rip you off you can go and find yourself another bloody lawyer.

At points in the case where I should have been contacted there was none. 
At hearings in which they had told me they would call to inform me of the result – they did not.
At a final hearing which they lost I was actually denied legal advice for 4 weeks after the event.
There was no reason given as to why legal advice was denied
 this was also the  exact amount of time in which there may have been a chance to appeal the decision.

At a final meeting with George Draca he told me that the legal bill with him was now sitting at $200,000.
however throughout the running of this case Norwest lawyer always refused to show any form of billing or account keeping.

My hope from this review is that other people who may be in my position can read this review first and make a more informed decision than I was able t when selecting a law firm.
