Northern Git

“The best roast in Melbourne” as my friend said. So so good, we went as a big group for Sunday dinner, most of us had the veggie option which was delicious and few other had the meat option which also got good feedback! As a fellow Yorkshire man I was impressed at the Yorkshire puds! Staff super friendly and welcoming, just generally a nice spot for some food. Will definitely be back to try the regular menu. If your looking for a proper roast this is your spot!

Food was average. Kingfish 4/10 - was warm. Wings 4/10 - wings were supposed to come with blue cheese, it tasted like Mayo. Sunday roast 7/10 - was actually one of the better roast I’ve had in Melbourne. Steak 8/10 - a bit spendy, but twas decent steak! I probably wouldn’t come back…

Have been to Git a few times now and always leave with a massive smile on my face and my pants undone a few buttons. Highlights ofcourse are the steaks, priced per 100g and cooked to perfection. Crispy charred goodness, melts in your mouth. Very affordable wine list. The gentlemen that serviced us was so friendly and knowledgeable. Aside from the steaks the other mains are also delicious. Table favourite was the pie so decadent and comforting. Do not forget a serve of the ducko rolls! A must have!

Absolutely gorgeous food. The staff were super friendly. Gets a bit busy but it's understandable why. Their ribeye comes in either 550g or 600g and is simply fantastic. One of the best in Victoria for sure.

Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff. Had the Sunday Roast and the lamb was very yummy, all the sides and sauces go well together. Yorkshire pudding was big and pretty good, but I'd prefer it thicker. Overall a very satisfying meal and experience. Easy to find parking for Sunday lunch too.

Great Sunday roast and the best Yorkshire! We arrived after 4pm when it was very quiet so didn't get the full atmosphere experience but that didn't detract from the food.Food: 5/5

Wow! First time at Northern Git and it was amazing. The moral of the staff was absolutely incredible, friendly and happy! Steaks were incredible and the wine was amazing!! An unfortunate accident occurred on Plenty road involving some ducklings and the staff assisted us in every way whilst we ran out of the restaurant, dropping everything to provide boxes and emotional support! Looking forward to coming back here! Thank you to the Northern Git Team tonight! X

Nice atmosphere here. Good tap and wine lists. Tasty entrees. Friendly service too. The bone-in rib-eye steak we shared as a main was large and looked great, but the cook was poor - crisp and blackened on the edges, but blue in the centre. We'd asked for medium rare. The well cooked parts were tasty. We'll probably be back, but the steak - which we assumed was their speciality - was disappointing.

I have been going for years with my partner, friends and or family and every single time has been amazing. The staff are just gorgeous and the food is incredible. You are so well looked after. The food never ever disappoints and is always on point. Drinks menu is great, so many options to choose from and quality selections

Eggplant wedges were yummers and we loved the opportunity to try wallaby which was surprisingly tender. Atmosphere was great though geared towards couples/seatings of two, service was pleasant and cocktails were tasty and unique. We spent just under $120 for two a few small plate dishes to share and a cocktail each - I'd consider it a little pricey and probably not a good weekly option, but lovely for a special occasion or an occasional special
