Have been working in Benalla the past 5 weeks, and The Northo quickly became my feature place for lunch and dinner. This is one of the coziest pubs I've seen in a long time, couch furniture surrounded with a classic feel of yesteryear. Their meals are always amazing, veggies cooked perfectly, nothing bistro about this place. Most of all are the staff, who we could practically call friends now. I share a birthday today with Geoff, the owner, and he was kind enough to offer me a desert on the house (along with a lit candle!). Will miss this place.

Tried the scotch fillet. Cooked perfect and a very tasty meal. Staff are very helpful and polite also. Would definately go back.

A bit slow when very busy, but then it's always good to chill out and not rush ; plenty to chat about in the interim. Good food, reasonable prices and very friendly and accommodating service. Good to support a local business

Food is very nice, service is excellent. Helpings are generous. Wine selection includes good local range. Especially nice in winter to have pre-dinner drinks in front of open fire relaxing in the leather couches.
