North City is convenient and has a good mix of stores, supermarket and food options, which makes it easy to get everything done in one trip. Parking is generally straightforward and the location is handy for Porirua locals.nnThat said, some of the common areas feel a bit dated and aren’t always as clean as they could be, especially during busy periods. With a bit more attention to upkeep and modernisation, it could be a much nicer space overall.nnStill a useful and well-located shopping centre, just with room for improvement.
I have visited Wellington many times, but this time I chose to explore the Kmart located in North City Shopping Centre, Porirua. I was amazed to discover that it’s a huge shopping centre with a wide variety of stores. I enjoyed browsing through Kmart’s large selection, especially in homeware and clothing. The food court offered a great mix of cuisines and was a pleasant place to sit and eat. I also enjoyed visiting Farmers and exploring other retail stores. The centre was clean, well-organised, and easy to navigate. Overall, it was a satisfying shopping experience with everything in one place. There were also plenty of comfortable seating areas and accessible facilities, which made the visit more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, and the entire space felt welcoming for families and solo visitors alike. I will definitely return on future trips.
It’s a nice mall, but not the best. The shopping is geared more toward locals and middle‑class New Zealanders. Expect to see stores like Kmart, Farmers, Foot Locker, Just Jeans, etc. I was disappointed with my lunch at Pita Pit; however, on other occasions I’ve enjoyed Satay Me and Royal Roast, which were both good.

Great mall. Well run, very clean and there is enough variety that you can do most of your shopping in one stop. Parking in the mall is undercover. Lots of food and options for coffee.
