Went for lunch with friends, it was so hot in there, most of the fans were missing for some reason. Had tandoori chicken salad which I was disappointed with, 4 measily strips of chicken (not tandoori chicken mind you) just a tandoori dressing on the salad which consisted of salad leaves, cucumber and capsicum. Certainly not worth $20 and not what I was expecting

Attended a wedding here, so wanted to stay where it was taking place. I wouldn't recommend a stay here. Lots of little things added up to it not meeting my expected accommodation standards. Shower head was below head height so you have to bend down to wash your hair. Laminate in bathroom basin was rotten and look like it had seen a frequent flooding. Lighting was poor in all the rooms (I had a 2 bedroom cottage with kitchen, bathroom, living room) and some lights were not even working. I had air conditioning in my lounge room, if you wanted to be cool in the bedroom - keep the door open (so no privacy from the 2nd bedroom or your other guests) but most of the other wedding guests told me their rooms had NO air conditioning at all. Lots of rooms had sliding glass doors and fly-screens but the fly screens don't lock so you cannot cool down your room and keep it secure at the same time. Mosquitoes are rampant there but the al fresco dining (open to the air) didn't have anything that stopped them from visiting you. Warning out of town guests to bring insect repellent would of been extremely helpful as the only shop nearby is the Retreat's own shop/reception with limited hours and stock. I could not even buy fresh milk for coffee in the room - it was long life. Most the roads (no pavements) to the accommodation/facilities are gravel and rocky, so bring some sturdy waterproof shoes if you want to leave your room sometime. I found the signage to the rooms poor and confusing and having FOUR number 1's (Lakeside 1, Cottage 1, Cabin 1, Poolside 1) - even the staff gave my brother the wrong Key number 1. If you hadn't mentally pictured where your room is in the daytime you will never find it in the dark. There wasn't even clear signage to reception/check in desk.

Very happy with the quality and staff behavior. Outside barbecue facilities are nice. as well as a restaurant and bar if you didn't want to do your own cooking. Lots of wild life near the cabins so that was an interesting experience. All in all 2 thumbs up!
