Very convenient being right next door to the pub, meals were easy and room service was great.nWe did have a dead possum right outside our room on arrival, looked like it had been there a few days. It remained there the entire 4 days of our stay. Not a great look.
We stayed as a family for 6 nights, and having an extra microwave, standard washing machine, and dryer really made our lives easier during our stay.nnWe went to the buffet on the second floor of the restaurant next door twice during our stay. There was plenty of seafood, Asian-style fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and even some good old English black pudding. As hotel guests, we also got an extra discount, which was a nice touch.nnThe team was small but really attentive and responsible. Anytime we had an issue or request, they took care of it quickly and made sure we were happy.
We arrived as the evening chill was setting in, so imagine our delight to walk into our room which was lovely and warm, as the heater had been turned on for us.nWe found everything was perfect, with a perfect colour scheme and all new fittings.nSuch a lovely stay - thank you so much.
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. This place is definitely not for children. The front office was not open during our stay I assume due to easter. We had to check in, in the casino and bar area, which was not ideal with young children in tow. The bathroom was not clean, lots of bugs and debris throughout the shower - and was not cleaned during our stay of 3 days. It is not close to any attractions of Melbourne, so out in the suburbs which is fine, but its a long commute via train or about 30-35min drive into the city; 60min+ to the airport. Our room stank of smoke, but due to no front office we could not change to another room. The room was large which is nice; and the beds were fine. The beds and trash was taken out each day. It is secure behind a key card operated fence. It is also noisy, can clearly hear neighbouring rooms and conversations, particularly folks smoking outside the rooms.
Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean and tidy. Would have been better if the bottled water was replaced from the initial supply each day. On the whole would have no problem recommending it to others.
