Well I'm a local and I love supporting local buisness . But your guys chips have been chopping and changing alot . The crinkle chips are back Wich barely have any flesh in them and they are not tasty at all ! Not salted . You's need to change your chips .. The other chips are nice but you only give them once a blue moon
I was going to be disappointed with it all, but when a pregnant woman is trying to run a Saturday night takeaways on her own, with a five year old kid running around inside & outside, I have to appreciate what I got in the end given what was. A bit expensive I thought, but look at the area, everyone up north whinges & has something to say about jafa’s, but boy do they love to cash in on them. I worry about the 5 year old or so kid running around with the busy road & lots of people in the dark outside, this is not safe for your kid at all, the Kai was good enough given what was happening there, we munched it happily. Could definitely have done with some staff there that night, but I can only assume the new age young person Saturday night fever can’t work bug was going around, ain’t easy getting people to turn up to work these days I appreciate this. Northland could learn a lot off jafas, many things wrong here but Thankyou for trying, surely there’s family members that could take over for you though, please take care of you & baby first. Will be back, jafa turned north lander, always around cruising the beaches, see you again, cheers.
Amazing couple with great local vibes! Fish and chips was amazing! Beats any Auckland fish and chip shop by MILES! They were able to cater to our family members gluten intolerance with ease. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Dietary restrictions: Gluten intolerance.
Room for improvement. Food quality and long wait times is a huge step below the previous owners. They also forgot the cheese in the cheeseburger and egg in the egg burger in our order.Food: 3/5
Nice fresh fish. Very speedy service too.
Uncooked batter on the hotdog, mussel fritters that didn't taste of mussels in any way. Just gluggy and flour flavored. Over cooked chips. Rang to complain and the guy who answered could not have cared less. Disappointing is an understatement. We used to go to Ngungas specifically to have fish and chips on the beach. Won't bother now.
Over priced takeaways. Was told the wait time was 15-20 mins waited 40 was served over cooked oily fish and chips. Would not recommendFood: 1/5
A highlight of the cuisine that the Tutukaka coastline has to offer and a true representation of a good kiwi fish n chip shop! Crunchy and tasty fries, generous burger sizes and we were surprised with the number of ingredients going into a simple hamburger: tomato, lettuce, carrot, tomato sauce, onion, mayonnaise, beetroot and a thick patty is definitely a treat for $6! Pleasant staff and accurate wait times, even when it’s busy. Would definitely come back again.
Very busy little shop.. food was good, doing dishes was easy. Will return to sample more.
The service is a bit slow and unorganized. There was a lady there on Monday 24th that had waited an hour for food and a gentleman that only got half of his order due to confusion. The food we received was good though and took around 30 mins.
