Horrible grumpy reception staff. Trying to get test results and after letting out a big sigh' is no help at all. I understand u may have had many calls about this but realize this is the first time we have made contact. So mabey u need a metal health break day off or go outside for a cigarette but having an attitude does not show well for your clinic.
This is by far the best GP practise ive ever had the pleasure of being signed up to. Dr Armstrong is compassionate, fair and dedicated to finding solutions and putting plans in place for recovery, he involves himself with specialists once he has referred you and follows up with them on your outcome to ensure you receive the best quality of care. He can sometimes seem like he is telling me off like im a school girl but i guess that because he is trying to influence positive changes for my health benefit. People complaining on here about appointment waiting times ought to go to the UK and see what its like over there, the healthcare system here is amazing and is massively under resourced and under appreciated yet they do a a far better job than any medical body i dealt with in the UK, and waiting times over there are around 8 weeks! Ive never had to wait longer than a week to see my doctor for a non emergency appointment which i think is more than fair. You should not go to your doctor on the first day you get sick anyway as the bug might just pass on its own, 3-5 days of cold / flu/ sickness symptoms then see a doctor and they can prescribe an antibiotic to treat it. So many bugs are becoming resistant to antibiotics we should be using them sparingly not taking them for a slight throat tickle get a bloody cough sweet and suck it up butter cup!
Very disappointed We are enrolled here and have had multiple bad experiences with getting in to see a doctor. Today my 4yr old son sliced his finger open and it was quite deep so I shot him straight to Ngaruawahia Medical Center without an appointment and asked the receptionist if i could quickly see a nurse to check my sons finger as it may need stitches or butterfly strips, and her reply was 'sorry we only have one nurse on today and she is with someone' she told me I had to go to another doctor which was 20mins away. They turned my 4yr old away and there was nobody in the waiting room which is absolutely appalling. It would have only taken 5 mins of their time so I had to take my son crying which broke my heart. How could you turn a child in pain away.. Also you have to book a week in advance if you want to see a doctor as if you know when your gonna be sick so we are now changing doctors
I've had the need to visit the Ngaruawahia Medical Centre many times now. It is always a friendly experience. Diagnosis is efficient yet relaxed and comforting. If follow up is required with specialist requirements the appointments are a seamless next step. Thanks to the Receptionists, Phlebotomists, Nursing Specialists and Community Health orientated Doctors.
As a training center we have visited ths Medical Centre five times, Four times we have been turned away and sent to Hamilton, three cuts had been important ACC injuries in the workplace and one request for a nurse to view something, also referred to Hamilton Medical Centre despite only two other patients waiting. Another appoinment we had resulted in a student waiting two hours to see a doctor. We will go straight to Hamilton next time we need help.
Very good usually. Doctor appointments have to be booked at least a week in advance, due to work loads. Emergencies go to Anglesea str. Hamilton where you wait at least an hour. All this stems from lack of Government medical support.
My experience was a not a good one, customer service was below average from getting to the counter and speaking to the receptionist then went to bad after another unfriendly sour looking older lady came out stating to go to the website in a foul manner. There were no patients behind me and reception was NOT busy to answer queries especially with two staff members on. So overall, I strongly agree with other low ratings this business has received.
Never ever get an appointment when needed. And the customer service is just appalling, they don't actually care about their customers will be changing doctor.
Great place but can never get a booking
Some of the staff are unfriendly.
