Story

The Newtown Hotel was originally opened in 1871 as the Newmarket; it was demolished, rebuilt and renamed in 1912 as The Newtown Hotel. This Historic venue has its own stance in the local Toowoomba history books with one of its late publicans Major Bob McInnes receiving the Military Cross in New Guinea during World War 2.The original still standing hotel was constructed in 1932.

Today the hotel boasts a refurbished gaming room, bistro, bar and kids area for the whole family to enjoy. Newtown Hotel is renowned for its mouth-watering affordable steaks. Our filling home cooked meals are a big hit with all our guests. If you are looking for an affordable, good quality meal in a friendly atmosphere this is the place for you. Open for lunch 11:30am-2:30pm and Dinner 6pm-9pm 7 days a week.
