Great little place, friendly, clean and inviting. Whether you feeling like a coffee or a bite to eat you can’t go wrong. They have seating inside or you can opt to sit outside. Plenty of parking offering 2 hours free but please make sure you grab a ticket to avoid getting fined…..enjoy
Ordered two mocha, bacon and egg roll and a salmon salad. Coffee tasted quite milky, unable to taste any hint of chocolate at all. Bacon and egg roll was nice. Salmon salad was cold, and tasted sour not sure if it was because of the dressing or if the salmon was no good. Would definitely not recommend getting your coffee here tho.
Got risotto with menu log. When it came I was shocked. It was rice and sauce in 2 different boxes and I had to mix them together. Never eating here again

Jags Restaurant in Newington is an absolute gem! I had the pleasure of dining there recently and was thoroughly impressed with the service and the quality of the food. In particular, the pizza was incredible - I can confidently say it was one of the best I've ever had! The crust was perfectly crispy, the sauce was flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely, with a warm and welcoming vibe that made me feel right at home. I would highly recommend Jags Restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience, especially if you're in the mood for some great pizza. Thank you for the wonderful meal and excellent service!
My wife Lassie Zia and I had had a wonderful lunch at Jags Restaurant Newington. The place is very nice, the staff are just wonderful and we got a Burger and the Caesar Salad. It was 5 star hotel quality and we both loved it and had to take lots of photos of them. Fair prices too. Shall be back and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I came to the restaurant last Friday night with my sisters-in-law for some dinner before a concert. We ordered some garlic bread and fries which were fine and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ends. The arancini we ordered was still raw in the middle and underwhelming. The garlic prawns were soaked in oil and tasteless, except for the expired fishy taste from the prawns themselves. This was the same with the prawns in my gluten free pasta alla olio, not to mention the completely unpalatable taste of the dish; despite my hunger I barely ate 1/3 of my dish. I wish I could perfectly describe how awful it was, but words wouldn’t do it justice. We let the waitress know, only for her to come back 10-15 minutes later as we are leaving to ask us if we wanted something else instead, knowing full well that we had to leave. The restaurant offered no compensation, and the cashier chick was rude. We tossed up returning to ask for a refund on at least my dish, but we had no time. So instead, here is my experience for others to think twice before coming here. The Jags at Bella Vista is so good every time, but this experience has tarnished this image.
Tasty food lava sauce with good spice kick and well balanced risotto. Top it off with friendly and great customer service. Top it off again with outdoor fairylight atmosphere. Definitely will come back!Food: 5/5
Been going to this Cafe in Newington for years for coffee and the occasional breakfast but just lately I am annoyed at being asked for cash instead of payment by card. Who really carry's cash nowadays, we pay for everything by card. It is getting very annoying being asked for cash!
First time here for a takeaway coffee so no expectation. The coffee was served hot nice but the bean is not my favourite it’s ok that’s subjective. The disappointment comes from a lady at the counter not smiling that’s ok off -day maybe, no service, slammed my change and coffee on the counter impatiently and disrespectfully, then also shaking her head disapproving another customer picking up a wrong order by mistake. I was being polite all the way but unsure why her mood was so rude to customers. Maybe an off day but read other reviews here so I’m not alone about this. P.s They prefer cash and charge customers w/ 2.99% surcharge on any cards. Pretty steep
