This place is a must visit on your trip to Whanganui. The skill that goes into making the huge variety of beautiful art, jewellery, vases & ornaments from glass is superb.nThis place is an outlet for many artists to sell their work from $30 to $11,000 plus Something for everyone!nYou can also book a spot in a glass making class, if you are quick as the spots for the year fill up fast.nThere's usually a person working on making something but the day we went that person was unwell.nFree street parking outside.nFree entry.nWheelchair accessible to watch the glass artist at work.
Wanganui has so many little gems of a place to visit. This glass works is one of them. They have a balcony viewing platform that you can sit and watch the artist at work. Loved the amazing glass art on display. You can even take lessons here!
New Zealand Glassworks is well worth a visit when in Whanganui. The gallery features beautiful glass sculptures for sale and overlooks an impressive kiln. The hands-on workshops look like lots of fun and book out well in advance. Friendly and helpful staff.
