I am finding that some checkout operators do not bother to say a simple hello.nThis morning I had to pack my own bag. It was open ready for her to drop the items in. No she just slid them through and around my bagnAlthough I only spent $60 today, I believe it makes me eligible for a calendar. The lady in front spent $40 and got asked if she wanted one. I was not asked and never got a calendar.nI have returned to N W lately because it used to have friendly service. Some operators are great and that is much appreciated.nI'm am learning to work out which aisle to go through just to get some validation for shopping at your store.nPerhaps this is a way of encouraging self service.nPerhaps I just need to build a bridge.nEither way often it's my only daily outing and poor service does not work well.
Deli ladies are wonderful, so polite and always have a smile. However, an older checkout operator could be a lot more friendly. It never hurts to smile and engage in a little conversation. In this type of work you need to leave your bad days at the door. I was also surprised that Rangiora New World don't accept Gold Card. All other New Worlds I have visited accept it.
The staff are usually so good but this afternoon I was at the lotto counter waiting for the girl to notice me. Once she did she said she wouldn't be long then continued to dry the dishes. She then dried her hands and started putting the coffee machine back together. She then went back to the sink and started drying more dishes. I left and noticed after loading my groceries in car that someone else was waiting for her to finish the dishes
Pleasant and courteous check out operators, specifically the young lady who packed my bag. Moreover, I was able to find pretty much everything which I was looking for, much better than my local. I will shop again at this specific location.
Thank you to the lovely lady at the coffee counter who made me a tea today, despite the fact I ignored the giant sign saying the coffee counter was closed.
