Story

Tony & Janet McNeil and Ashley & Olivia Chester are the owners of New World Porirua. It certainly is a family business!

Tony and Janet moved to New Zealand from Australia 16 years ago, settling into the Porirua region. They have three children and the family are current members of various sporting clubs including the Paremata Boating Club.

Ashley and Olivia are only recent arrivals to NZ and are excited about becoming immersed in the Kiwi culture and also enjoy a spot of sailing.

Porirua affords some wonderful opportunities in this regard with a stunning harbour environment and easy access to great walking and riding tracks and the wine regions of Martinborough and Marlborough.

We look forward to welcoming you to New World Porirua.

I was very very impressed with the service I received from the staff member at the liquor department yesterday morning. He noticed I was browsing around the sparkling wines and initially asked if he could help but I thought I was ok. After a while it obviously appeared I wasn't some asked me again. I accepted his help and with his expertise, knowledge and great service I walked away with a couple of bottles. He treated me like I was very special and certainly would recommend others to visit.
Very neat store with so many options for most products.nNot always the best prices though, but usually offers very good specials for some items.
My favourite place to shop at frequently, this place is always so clean and welcoming. Great customer service from the skinny māori boy who helped me pack my bags. Always a supermarket I highly recommend to everyone

Additionally, I found that the store lacked variety in certain items, which was disappointing.nnHowever, the fresh produce section was well-stocked and of high quality.nnDespite these drawbacks, I appreciate the convenience of having a supermarket nearby and will likely return for specific items.nnOverall, New World Porirua has room for improvement but still offers a decent shopping experience.
Went to New World to look at one particular item, 0% wine. Had been to Woolworths and they only had Australian wine in the 0% wine non alcoholic but New World had a wide range of both New Zealand and Australian wine, well done.
