Date night and it was comfort food to the max! Special mention to the Black truffle chicken and mushroom fried rice which was aromatic and on point with simple ingredients done well. It complimented the crispy goodness of their signature Pan fried pork buns. Also a decent pairing was the Wok fried king prawns with salted egg yolk with the Salt and Pepper tofu. Highly recommend and is a must-eat in Ashfield.
We live 1 hour away, but chose to go there because of very positive reviews. The restaurant was a simple, no frills environment, but the authentic flavours exceeded our expectations. Finally a smokey fried rice! Every dish was of the highest quality, and the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. We would give more than 5 stars if we could. Will definately back. Maybe tomorrow. Lol
I know this is a chain but this particular location beats all the other ones. We had the braised beef in clay pot, king prawns in egg yolk and and noodles in sweet and sour soup. Their food were so wholesome and delicious, and their portions were so generous, especially the king prawns. It is slightly more expensive than shanghai night next door but the restaurant and service is much better. We will definitely be back.
Good tasty food a bit different to the normal suburban Chinese restaurants which predominantly do Cantonese style food. They do really nice dumplings too. My Chinese friends dine here on a regular basis so that is a good recommendation.
Value for money. The food is extremely tasty for the price. Generous portions and and friendly service. It’s family run with the auntie at the front wrapping dumplings. They make the dumpling skins from scratch. The Xiaolongbao, salt and pepper tofu and pan fried pork buns are a must! The food is fresh and really tasty. They give complimentary green tea. The restaurant is small, so come before 6:30pm to get a table. They are opened for lunch too. The service is quick and friendly.
This is the most modern Chinese restaurant. The perspective of modern doesn’t mean the vibe or renovation. I mean they consider the various requirements involved gluten free and vegetarian. And the English manual is easy to follow.Recommended dishesPork Xiao Long Bao
4.5 Stars. Really nice restaurant with great food and great service. Just lacks that finesse to be a 5 Star restaurant. Love sitting in front of the kitchen and watching the chef's prepare and cook. Really nice experience!
Easy tasty food. Fast service and super efficient staff. We had a few vegetarian options and overall it was good.
Need to do better... Average food served in disposables... If I was in a food court paying half the price it's not a problem but they have clearly pivoted to cater more for takeaways.. with no thought given to table service and what you would expect at a dine in restaurant... Slapping what looks like kitchen leftovers on the table I can't see how anyone would be happy with this??! Staff also in the kitchen having full blown arguments ready to pull out the cleavers Do yourself a favour and skip this place.. go to taste of Shanghai across the road for a much better experience...
Good spot for dumplings in Ashfield, went there early before the dinner rush at 6.3 on a Sunday so we didn't have to wait long for a table. Ordered the xiao long bao and pork steamed dumplings, both had chewy al dente wrappers which made each bite a juicy experience. The five spice noodle soup didn't have too much msg and it was quite refreshing, this paired nicely with the tender beef slices. Definitely get a fried rice salted pork and egg, it's very savoury and worth it. A go to place for dumplings in Sydney!
