"Let us take you on an ancient gastronomic journey along the Mediterranean basin from Beirut to Spain and everywhere in between. Inspired by only the freshest seasonal produce we serve honest hearty food filled with flavour and colour. The decor is clean and functional with subtle elements of the port town Jaffa. Big shared tables take up the floor encouraging guests to mingle and share bites. More intimate seating is available out back with a Moroccan inspired courtyard perfect for evening drinks and long summer nights."

A classic and a favorite place for dinner with friends! Having been here well over 15 times, the consistency remains extremely high. It always impresses and gets better each time. I do recommend always sharing the platter so you can try all the different plates, plus it is a reasonable price. It’s a lot of food, so I recommend finishing your meal off with a soothing fresh mint tea
Ordered chicken shawarma and falafel. The foods were amazing! The bun bread was soft and fluffy. The flavour was unforgettable. Definitely will come back again
The best quality food in Melbourne. Authentic Israeli flavors prepared in a spotless kitchen and presented stylishly. In winter the courtyard in fitted with flattering lighting with heat lamps. In the summer you can dine amongst the banana trees & wild rose canopies, a perfect setting for a private party. The staff are very accommodating & charming. New Jaffa is Collingwood’s hidden gem for caliber & cuisine.
Everything was delicious but the desserts. The cauliflower is a must try and they were very kind to make it during lunch upon request it is on the Dinner menu. Fries were also delicious, slightly different from the usual fries out there. I would suggest having physical menu, this qrcode is very annoying. My friend and I found the desserts very disappointing and too pricey for what they were. I'm certainly coming back tho, good atmosphere, service and presentation. Thank you
Been here at 3 PM Saturday, very friendly and welcoming. We had the mushroom and meat Arayes pitas which both enjoyed. The taste was very different and delicious. We also had Israeli salad which basically was Shirazi salad and very refreshing. The Sonac Paloma cocktail was different and nice. We enjoyed the late lunch very much and would come back again.
Lovely restaurant with vibrant, fresh and delicious food. The feed me menu was generous but didn’t include some things we wanted to try, it worked out great adding things on top but next time I would definitely go a la carte. Highly recommend the beef cheeks!
Most authentic and delicious Middle Eastern food I've ever had! A vegetarians dream with so many options available as well. In reading the other reviews, we opted to not get the platter and opt to individually order dishes, definitely the way to go as we were left stuffed. Staff were very friendly and even when we had an issue with our vegetarian zereshk gave us a vegetarian one, then took it away for a meat one, then had to swap it, it was always without a fuss. The spiced Moroccan curry and rhe hummus with the charred pitta was the highlight for us, with plenty of other dishes to choose on our next trip to New Jaffa. Rest assured, the food is not cheap, however you get flavours and textures which can only come using the freshest ingredients and proper cooking techniques of old!
Disappointing dining experience at New Jaffa - wouldn’t recommend the ‘feed me menu’ which is what we did. Essentially was a bunch of entree style dishes lumped onto a tray, and surprisingly no dessert was included. Was roughly $50 pp for a chicken skewer & pitas w dips & falafel. The dishes tasted pretty good & was good quality, just very underwhelming for what we expected.
My friend and I were extremely excited to try this place as we love mediterranean food andwe got the $40 per person feed me platter. Imagine our disappointment when this came out… $80?! For bread and hummus? Two falafels, quarter head of cauliflower, three spoons of barely salad and a whole bunch of parsley? Not only disappointing but extremely angering too. What a waste of money. Don’t get me wrong the food was nice nothing special but I can’t believe they can justify charging $80 for this. The waiter also ignored us the whole night and the food took 35 minutes to come out.
Really cosy and nice restaurant. We had kebab, hummus plate and our friends had falafel and cauliflower. All the dish were with testy sauce. Everyone loved their meal and we will definitely go back there. Knafeh also was one the best knafeh I have ever had, not too sweet and very tasty.
