Stayed here last night was the first couple to stay in the room ..was amazing tea and coffee making facilities own lounge with access outside. Warmed up quickly and the bed was to die for but if you like a really flat pillow take your own . Great hosts Neville and Jackie very friendly and knowledgeable about the area which is great Great selection on the menu and good home cooked meals Fantastic welcome from the locals as well

What a fantastic little pub just across the road from a brilliant little camp site. The welcome from the Land Lord and locals alike was the epitome of South Island hospitality - warm, friendly and unassuming. If you want a break from the world and just want quality time with the family this is the perfect place.
Awesome wee hidden spot with a campground opposite. Neville and Jackie are amazing an welcoming. Very laid back and guaranteed a laugh with the locals. Been coming here every year since I was 8 months old. I'm 24 now and this place never disappoints. Heaps of walking tracks to explore and caves to amaze. Finish off the summer day with a dip in the river or jump of the cliff if your keen before heading over to the pub for a pint and an icecream.
Did not stay at the motel, which was closed, so couldn't even visit for a beer from across the road from our camp ground, which was a shame. Camping here is very good with provision of clean toilets, a covered area with sinks where you can prepare food, and lots of dining seating outside. Price of camping was typical of DOC prices, and very reasonable. The grounds contain a playground for kids, and there are some nice shirt walks to do, highlighting some of the mining history of the area. Sandfly repellent is advised.

Awesome place, welcoming locals with lots of interesting stories........ Great spot for a pub right across the road from a well set out camping ground. The publicans, Nelville n Jackie are lovely too.
My husband just got home from staying here for the last week while on the coast for work and he couldn’t rate these publicans high enough, meals and lunches were lovely, the boys worked late so they stayed up and cooked their meals for them when they got in and even went as far as hanging their wet weather gear up in front of the fire for them and put paper in their wet work boots. Husband has travelled a fair bit for work over the years but the Nelson Creek Hotel went above and beyond.
One of a kind. Fantastic owners Jackie and neville that really look after their customers and great food. A real gem!
