In creating Neapoli, owners Con Christopoulos and Joshua Brisbane, - the duo behind Melbourne institutions the European, City Wine Shop, Melbourne Supper Club and Siglo - have spared no detail in creating what is essentially their dream bar. Housed in the Nonda Katsalidis designed ‘little Hero’ building, Neapoli is Rat Pack inspired hipster sophistication, without neglecting the fundamentals of warm and friendly service. It’s a place where, as Christopoulos states, one can “hide away from the city and enjoy a few drinks with mates”.
The menu, like the space itself, is designed to accommodate all tastes and moods. As Christopoulos explains: “It’s my favourite kind of food – one day I’m on a health kick, the next day I want the comfort of my Mum’s rabbit stew”. Whether it’s coffee with a smoked salmon and poached egg bagel for breakfast, or a cheese or mezza plate to compliment one of the excellent wines from the list, the emphasis at Neapoli is always on quality.
