The National Hotel Complex is one of Bendigo’s most popular eateries with locals and visitors alike.

Only 1.5 hours’ drive from Melbourne and located only 1 km from the city centre, we are located directly opposite Bendigo Central Deborah Gold Mine and Bendigo Talking Tram Tours.

The National Hotel Complex offers wonderful hospitality in a modern and friendly environment, guaranteeing you a worthwhile and memorable experience.

One night stay with an evening meal in the Bistro. The Manager on duty happily changed my room from upstairs to ground floor advantage of being old! on arrival. Very clean, comfortable room with parking at the door. Lovely hot shower, all amenities were there. Walked 50m for an excellent bistro meal. Really couldn't fault this place, except to say that not everyone may be aware of the two levels. If you prefer to be on the ground, ask when booking. I will know for my future visits, and there will be future visits for sure. 5 minute drive to Bendigo Hospital.
I’ve only ever eaten in the bistro or bar here but I must say it’s one of the only places in Bendigo that I like to eat the food from!!!nnIt’s not 5 star or perfect but you generally get pretty good service from wait staff and food that is yummy which is a lot better than 90% of Bendigo establishments.nnLove the Parma with chips and salad and Choc Brownie is always good but I miss the option where you could get a 2 person serve for $16 and it came with honeycomb also. Don’t try the Lava Cake as it was inedible when we had it and sometimes desserts come with mouldy strawberries as garnish.nnWe even ended up eating here for my 30th birthday as it was the only reliable place to go with kids.
Amazing stay! Everything you need within 50 meters, dinner delivered straight to your room, nice selection of drinks, unbeatable price. Highly, highly recommend.
We used love our lunches at the National - we have been going every week for over 2 1/2 years and had never been disappointed, but sadly, since it's been sold, it's changing. We've watched the changes slowly happening as the old staff have left, the new chefs have come in, and new management started. It's very disappointing, after all this time, to see the changes, not for the better.
We made the booking online and it’s really easy. We ate at the Bistro and the staff was nice and friendly. We ordered a beef burger, barramundi fillets, lamb salad, beef lasagne, and a tasting plate as entree. The tasting plate has pork belly, chicken spring roll, pumpkin arancini ball and calamari strips. The pork belly was so tender and juice, highly recommend. The food was out fast and they look great and taste incredible. We will definitely go back another time!
