My husband and I came to return 2 identical items of clothing, one of which started to fall to piece after 2 wears. The other unworn with its tags intact. I have a Myer One card and assumed that this would be sufficient to procure a refund. I was wrong!! Proof of purchase on my Myer One card was not accepted. After 40 minutes of being 'served' by 4 different people, each of whom was less than helpful. All 4 insisted that they could only provide a credit note and not refund as the returns could only be classified as change of mind. This seemed strange that a self destructing shirt was on the table in front of them with indisputable evidence of being purchased at Myer. Consumer affairs over-ride what staff in a store deem legitimate. We could only secure a full refund by going online to register as Myer One customers and print off the receipt then return to the store.nWe have reconsidered our relationship with Myer, especially given that we have been long-term Myer One customers with a strong purchase history. The 40 minute sage unfolded like a staged performance with the intention to frustrate us into dropping the whole matter.
My wife needed shoes for a wedding and she had tried various shoe stores with no luck. We tried Myer Ballarat and were lucky to be served by Dawn. Probably tried more than 12 different shoes and Dawn was so patient and helpful resulting in a sale. Thanks Dawn, your Manager should be nade aware of your professional attitude and service.
At present I’m travelling on the train wearing a tracksuit because it’s comfortable. Went into Myers Ballarat which is a great store. Whilst looking at some $200 boots a salesman came up looked me up and down then giggled and walked away. Very insulting! I will return and let him have it if he ever tries to serve me. I’ve written this in the hope that Myers will keep an eye out for this type of unacceptable conduct. Otherwise Myers is a great store to shop in.
