Covering much more than just geology, this small, quiet and cool museum gives an excellent overview of the natural history and ecological diversity of Central Australia. Excellent collection of fossils, taxidermy, and interesting geological information on central Australia. Not sure if young kids would enjoy it, our 10 and 7 year olds really enjoyed it. Took about an hour. A fantastic collection of photos in the upper section is well worth the time to discover. Entry is free for NT residents.
Disappointing. Full of potential but looking very old, rusty and dusty. Could use a refresh. Interesting only to hard core aviation buffs.
Although this museum is not large it is certainly packed with numerous interesting exhibits.. something for everyone I spent 2 hours there and saw everything, recommend for adults and kids alike
The museum has a wide collections of artifacts about the history of Alice Springs and the life of Aborigines. This place is a must see while you are in Alice Springs.
If you ever wondered about the geology and the natural history of Central Australis, then go visit this museum before you visit any of the lanscape of the region.
This museum is fairly small in size. However, it has packed lots of items. It generally took around 45 mins to explore in full. There are some interesting photo exhibition items as well.
