I buy coffee from here pretty regularly couple of times a week has always been spot on. Not the cheapest compared to others within Valley Metro, but the best quality in my opinion; definitely worth the the extra cost. I love that they offer an extra large size too - lasts right through the morning, don't see many other coffee chains offering it for some reason. Haven't had any food from here, the muffins look pretty nice though. The staff are always very friendly too, even when they are pretty busy during the morning rush. PS: Don't believe they charge a transaction fee anymore, never noticed one on my statements anyway.
I see no recent reviews, and I'm a bit sad at those posted. I'm a cash user, but I'm pretty sure the shop no longer charges the EFTPOS fee. Regardless though, I've always received good service and get exactly what I ask for. The current staff are a friendly mob and most importantly they have lactose free milk and gluten free muffins at no extra cost. Not the cheapest in the Valley, but certainly worth the cost in my opinion.
These guys charge .50c for any eftpos transaction under $25. When was the last time you spent $25 on a muffin? It's like there is this awkward moment for every electronic transaction. Just creates unnecessary friction with customers. Muffins are good, coffee is average.
Hello there, This is with regards to the closure of the Muffin Break, at the Valley Metro, Brisbane hence the one star review. Not even seven days have passed, and yet already any past checkin related to the store now redirects to another chain store in the area. They talk about that when you take your hand out of a bucket of water that there’s no hole left; this takes that saying to another, virtual, level. I was a regular customer at this Muffin Break for fifteen years. I watched the original proprietor work hard to build a relationship with their clients, and put things on the menu that they knew would cater to their local customers. They had to move three times due to renovations, yet they were able to keep up a very high level of customer service. Their client base was, like me, there regularly, and you left there each time with a very positive experience. The proprietor was a good person, and they took great care to ensure that they built strong relationships with their clients, to ensure that they came back...and we all did. Two years ago the proprietor gave it away, apparently due to restrictions that were placed on what they were allowed to sell by the franchise. Not only did this seem to go against the grain of what the proprietor was trying to achieve, but it didn’t appear to take into account what the customers’ needs were. When the proprietor had their last day, I had gone to the trouble of buying them a farewell gift. Thirteen years is a long time to be going to the same store, and such was the strong relationship that they cultivated in their customers. Even though other stores arrived to provide competition, this store proved why it had one several industry awards. It doesn’t surprise me- and it should- that under the new management it has now gone. There was nothing wrong with how the new management treated their customers, but certainly the duty of care that the former proprietor displayed was exemplary when compared to others; they understood the importance of adapting their items to cater to the local clientele. What came after didn’t, was apparently within the franchise guidelines, and therefore made the experience no different to any of the other competitors. It seems to me that the store became the victim of its own franchise, and that was a strange thing to observe over the last two years. I can only imagine what the former proprietor will be thinking when they hear that this store has now closed, two years after their fourteen and more years of building it up to be a great success. I for one was sad when the proprietor left, seeing the remaining fixtures now abandoned two years later only adds to this.
Great Coffee, Friendly Staff and for those who like a lot of coffee, then get an Extra Large. It's my favourite. It's one of the very few places that do a 20oz cup of coffee. That's 591mls of coffee which come standard with 3 shots of coffee. All the food is baked and made freshly on site daily. So you know what you get is fresh that day. RECOMMENDED HIGHLY. 5 STARS.
I was in Saturday morning 14/04/18 and just wanted to make commit on the amazing customer service i got got served by to young girls heard them mention only 18 they so friendly and helpful make convention with me and was just grete start to my morning. Not to mention the amazing coffee they made me and yummy muffins. Customer service make such difference be happy to go back here
Just ordered a ham and cheese croissant. Pretty simple right? No. First, I wasn't even asked whether I wanted it toasted or not: which I didn't. Secondly, after being toasted for over 10 minutes, I watched the woman scrape it off the toaster and put it in a bag and I can't even explain how bad it looks now. It resembles a burnt mess. In no universe is it a croissant. And not only that, but it was handed to me. No words spoken, no apology for the lump of crap in a bag I just paid 7 dollars for. Nothing. I am thoroughly disturbed by this woman's poor customer service.
Twice I've brought coffee in the morning from here and it's horrible. I get a Carmel latte and I get no Carmel and burnt tasting coffee - something needs to change because I know I won't be returning.
It was the worst not only the guy who served us could not tell us what was the filling in the donut so he went and asked the Manager and was told it was a chocolate fudge filling so we ordered what we thought a chocolate fudge donut and also some type of berry cheesecake mind you the only reason we asked about what was in the cabinet is because there was no food tag to describe what type of food or cakes it is....Donut was not chocolate fudge it is actually custard filling and the cheesecake looks like it is a day or 2 days old and it was horrible not to mention the coffee wasn't great either
Worst coffee ever! Threw it out. Curdled and bitter. Staff are always sick and wipe their noses on their sleeves while serving you and handling food.
