I worked there for nearly 2 years and love the staff and the customers. By far one of the best places to work. The food is prepared freshly and made with love. And the manger Anna, the boss Jason and his Beautiful wife Grace are lovely people who care about all customers. I truely recommend this place despite some reviews.Food: 5/5
place used to be a lot better and cost much less. now on doordash it is over $25 for beef satay and doesn’t even come with steamed rice like it used to. been ordering here for over 10 years now and it is sad to seeFood: 4/5
Ordered Singapore noodles with chicken. Was asked to pay $21.50 i/o advertised $18.50 which I pointed out. Front desk staff assumed I had asked for extra chicken, which I had not. So paid the $18.50 The meal was way too salty and dry. Had to add fresh mango slices to it yo make it palatable. Not worth the $18.50. I shall stick to Li's Noodles in Kawana Waters instead.
This was hands down the worst Asian food and experience we have ever had. Both meals were awful. The “Pad Thai” was not Pad Thai at all. There was almost no vegetables and no flavoring, they used flat noodles and literally 95% of the meal was just plain noodles. Honestly, 2 min noodles would have been nicer and I am not a fan of 2 min noodles. Sadly, the worst part of the experience was when I phoned to inform them of what had happened. And about the disaster of the other meal, A laksa that was again filled with noodles only this time, it was rice noodles and udon noodles mixed together. It was awful, and greasy. I havnt written a bad review for anyone but due to the experience with the owner, who literally spoke over me the entire time, placing the blame on me, and when I say this, literally yelled over me and didn’t even let me say a single word, she yelled in and on like a broken record not even taking a breath, it was absolutely disgraceful. How you could not even let the customer speak to hear what they had to say, and instead abuse them, is absolutely deplorable. I actually got so angry at how I was treated that two minutes after enduring her abuse, I actually tried to yell over her to say at least something, and literally this awful person continued to yell louder saying a million words an hour. She literally couldn’t care less about how she treats her customers, and therefore it’s no surprise that there was zero love in the food. This is the only bad eating experience I’ve had in Buderim. There are some great Asian restaurants around. Be sure to go to Peppermint Crescent who were amazing and Ngyuyen brothers. Their food is first class and their service is amazing also, they actually respect and treat their customers with kindness. I would place money on it that the positive reviews on mountain king are from friends and family, it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had with Asian food, let alone a business owner. Treat your customers better Mountain King, you are truly a disgrace. Incidentally even the bin didn’t want a bar of the “Pad Thai” have a look at the photo and see for yourself what we got and tell me that’s a Pad Thai, mind you, I would never have written a bad review if the owner had of been decent and made things right, but due to the way they treated us, they deserve to be shamed for their poor behavior.
The food Was absolutely delicious, thankyou to the lady that also gave use some fortune cookies. Our little one loved it and was so excited to open them. Lovely little restaurant, will definitely dine in next time!!Food: 5/5
Tried this place out despite the reviews/rating as we’ve moved in close by. Sadly the Peking San Choi bau was like a slightly Asian savoury mince and full of peas and carrot. The Mongolian lamb was so incredibly watery and full of what appeared to be bulk frozen mixed veg. However my husband said the greasy combination omelette was just like a place growing up and just what he wanted. Left afterwards with a tingly mouth and super thirsty from what I presume was MSG or just excess salt

Not often do we throw food away, the meal we had delivered from Mountain King was awful and went in the bin. Avoid this place - there are far better options . I’d give it a negative rating if I could. A side note - Google pinged me saying there was a reply to my review. The same reply was posted to every one star review ... and there are MANY of those. Turns out the food really is awful and it wasn't just a "one bad night" meal.
Rude service from the young lady answering the phone. Asked for pineapple in a dish same as we always have here. Have been coming for over 5 years. Always get this. Wouldn't do it, rude attitude was the issue. Enough that I cancelled the order. Generally this place is frustrating in how long the meals take. But the meals have generally tasted good. But I've got no time for rude service so now I'm going to another place.
After going near weekly for 6 months spending always over $85 dollars a pop, disappointed when tonight we get home with our $104 order to find they forgot the lemon sauce for the chicken. Phone to advise and women rudely explains it was in micro I could just come back. Advised we were just about to eat so coming back wasn’t an option as cold food less wanted than dry chicken. She then stated well I’ll put a lemon sauce on ur next order. When questioned what use would another sauce be if I’m ordering lemon chicken it comes with sauce. She again rudely and with attitude explained well come and get it now or get a lemon sauce next time. No apology, no friendliness. Poor customer service for sure. The dry chicken and special fried rice was 36 dollars! King prawn noodles with 4 prawns, onions and two bits of carrot was another poor shout tonight. Time to move our business elsewhere
