A hikers dream when the weather is great. The views are stunning across to Diamond Harbour and the walking tracks are well maintained and marked. Careful on tracks shared with bikes as cyclists fly up and down quickly and sometimes unheard as they approach. The cafe at the gondola is a welcome break for weary walkers and if your legs have had enough, you can buy a one way ticket back down. In terms of things to do in Christchurch - Mount Cavendish should be on your bucket list.

An amazing place to hike along the coast. Great 360° views! There after a couple of trails to take you shopping the creater rim and up to the summit of Mt Pleasant at 499m. Take the gondola up it hike the bridal path to get here. Don't forget to bring the camera!

Great views. On a sunny day, it is quite beautiful. Nice trekking tracks are available. Absence of crowds make it special

Great day. Nice walk but don't need to be too fit but in good health when over 60 years old with frequent stops to admire the view.

Amazing view. Nice hike on the hill. Good if you just have a short time in Christchurch. Its a must when you are in town.
