Story

The sister bar to mothers in Chapel St, it offers pretty much the same deal, except in a more refined way which is fitting for a bar in the heart of Brighton. Big bi-fold doors that open the entire front of the bar greet you with leather couches and a cosy fire. The music playing in the background is at a volume loud enough so the people on the next couch won’t hear your conversation but not so loud that you will go home with your ears ringing. There is a middle lounge with its own fire that’s perfect for groups up to 20 people and out the back is a Open Air Deck bar that is an all weather area that is heated. Toasty warm in winter and also perfect on those balmy summer rights, there’s space for 50 of your closest friends to shoot the breeze a sip a few Gin & Tonics or to enjoy a Kirin or Hahn on Tap, Brighton is open from 5pm till 1am every day.

One of Brighton's classics. Very peculiar assortment of patrons - ranging from freshly graduated high school students to middle aged property moguls. Bar staff always friendly & venue itself is quite nice. Outside patio down the back is a standout. 4/5 stars
Maybe it just happened to be an off night, but the vibe was very average, the bar staff seemed not interested in making anything off the menu, and the cocktails we ended up paying $20 per pop for were apparently short of many ingredients so tasted like basic spirit+ mixers. The venue is pretty nice, with a fireplace, comfy couches and little nooks. But it's not the fancy cocktail bar you might want to start off a date with from our experience last night.
Just went in on a whim after a late lunch and didn't want to leave. Great staff, really friendly. Delicious cocktails too
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! I would like to add to the list of 1 star reviews… I was eating a pizza from crust at the tables outside, when a nice young man from mothers milk walked out and offered kindly to turn on the heater even though we weren’t patrons of mothers milk, saying that mothers milk and crust were in a partnership deal. His kind attitude actually inspired me to go into the venue and spend some money at there venue, but before that was possible, a rude individual proceeded to harass me saying, the tables we were eating at were for mothers milk customers only and that they were in no partnership deal with crust. To which we explained that a nice young gentleman came out and offered to turn on the heater and offered us to come inside. He then proceeded to harass that nice gentleman and at that we decided to just leave. Here’s a tip: Instead of having a derro running the joint, put that nice gentleman in charge and maybe the place wouldn’t be such a ghost town.
I had a great night, a few drinks, and listened to a great band, plus good company
Look I love mothers. it’s a lovely place to relax and meet new people. However they are irresponsible with the amount of alcohol they provide often leaving people stumbling into the street. I have sometimes been witness to street ramp . I recently spent about 2 hours helping get people home because the staff refuse to help or at least accept responsibility for their dangerous lack of judgment when it comes to service. Their love music is amazing especially in Brighton wher the only thing you hear in other venues is gambling ads
The bartenders were very unwelcoming, felt as though we were overdressed as the bartenders were wearing bootie shorts and tracksuit pants, we got no service or welcoming. The limited service we received was worked for and forced. Men received table service however a group of 5 women had to walk to walk to the bar to receive any acknowledgment
Great local bar, many years of memories here. Plenty of seating, courtyard out back is quiet and perfect for large groups.
Lovely outdoor area, clean facilities and comfy indoor seating very comfortable and welcoming. Great to grab a drink highly recommend
