These decent sized rose gardens are worth a visit if you love roses. A large map provides direction to the collections. And 95% were labeled. Some had missing labels closer to the car park.nParking is easy in side streets lining the garden or at the large carpark along the train lines.nnThe garden extends either side of the main road and includes a planted roundabout.nnYou can see most of the flowers from your car as you do a lap, so if it’s end of season you can see if it is worth stopping.nnThere was still plenty of flowers to see and most importantly smell during our visit in early April.nnThere are also public toilets as part of the garden.
I went to the rose festival yesterday and Friday night light show. A terrific experience with great atmosphere.nA huge credit goes to the small number of Volunteers who maintain the roses all year round. Well done.
Lovely roses tended by volunteers every Tuesday. A pleasant stop when travelling through thr town of Morwell.
I was thrilled to see my story in the latest newsletter in regard to being the secretary for six years. I am in awe of the work in the garden after so many years.. To all the friends, committee and anyone involved in the ongoing nurturing of this wonderful garden, I thank you... It is such a wonderful thing to have a stroll around the garden now. I am now 80 and on a wheelie walker, and am continually seeing things still happening. Such a legacy to see that it is , and always will be a source of beauty and a joy forever... Joan Blizzard
An amazing collection of over 200 different types of roses - more than 4000 bushes - in bloom. They had passed the full glory of their spring flowering, but it was still a glorious sight.
