Built in the 1860s and named for the mayor at the time, Charles Moore, these steps link Macquarie St to Circular Quay. Interesting fact - they were intended to be made out of Sydney sandstone but it was determined this rock was too soft for high-traffic areas such as these steps, so they are made from Melbourne bluestone. Even today they show signs of wear so watch your *step*.
