Moonee Ponds station is one of the oldest passenger stations on the metro network. It has a waiting room on Platform 1 for passengers heading to Flinders Street Station. There are also plenty of myki recharge machines in the station.nnThe station has a connecting bus service. It takes around 7-8 minutes to walk to the nearest Tram Stop Tram 59 and 82. The station does not have toilet facilities although there is a toilet sign.
Its Staffed for morning peak thats it, no toliet, no vending machine and very little protection from the weather. Crime in the area is a problem.
Platform 1 is nice, big and has great facilities classic platform but is confusing to get there, making me miss a train. Platform 2 is more straightforward to get to but much more narrow not designed to catch trains but good to get off though. Busy station to catch public transport.nnCaught a 3:20pm train from Melbourne Central and the train was full until the train got here and people got off this station. Overall a very important and nicely designed station however more signage is needed.
I like the architecture of the station at least, I think pedestrian access could be improved a lot.
I am in love with this train station. I have been here many times and I can wholeheartedly say that this is one of the most exquisite stations I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Which is why it pains me so greatly to say that here, at Moonee Ponds station, is where I passed away.
