Understandably busy night. They got us a table reasonably quickly. Let us know about the wait time. Then the food arrived. The pork chops were cooked well but for something advertised as seasoned....not a lot of flavour. The seafood basket was very average. Mostly overcooked and the fries were saturated in oil. Have had better food here. Tonight was not that night.
Had a wonderful dinner here. There was a live musician playing who was very entertaining playing all the old classics like "the gambler." We chose a seafood platter which was simply superb. Great Flavours, only the cod thing was battered, scallops and prawns tasted awesome. Definitely big enought to feed 3 happily. One down side was a glass was broken on the floor and cleaned in too much of a rush. we could still see shards on glass which should have been vacuumed. Would recommend going and will come again for the seafood platter
We came here twice on our trip. Had the lunch specials that go right up till 5pm which was great because we were there about 4pm one day and it's that annoying time where most places stop serving food at 3pm. Not here though! Staff were friendly, it was nice and warm inside - you could sit where you wanted. Meals were served hot, were huge and delicious! Garlic bread was bloody good, second time we tried it with the cheese dip - do yourself a favour and get it. Only downside is that you wanted more of it haha. Really recommend Monteith's! They were also child friendly - we didn't have any but saw kids there having a great time. I had the fried chicken both times which was delicious and came with a side salad was huge & great value for $19, husband had ribs the first time and blue cod fish & chips the second - I sampled both and they were really good!
This was close to a 4 star only because the bacon well well over cooked, I don't mind a little crispy but it was crunchy to the point every fork stab created 8 different shards of bacon : But it was tasty and the service was very good from all the girls that served us and the food prep was VERY fast.
Really friendly welcoming staff who poured a good beer and make a delicious mulled wine. Sat in front of the fire to heat up - Couldn’t ask for more. If we hadn’t already had dinner I think this would make a good spot to eat as well.
Poor service had to wait up to an hour for our meal. The manager had poor management skills. I would not recommend this place Wrong order discussing
Great atmosphere, nice with the fire going in winter. Staff super helpful and really friendly, nothing was a bother for them. Reasonable prices at the bar. Restaurant was nice, good selection on the menu, very generous portions with great prices. Definitely worth a visit
Very poor quality food , waited over an hour and half , they mucked up orders 3 times . The manager did state this happens far too often as he said he’s not the cook . Twice we have been here and never again
I went in and sat down. It took 3 mins for a waitress to come to take our order. Understandably they are short-staffed. We ordered ribs and a dessert platter to share. Ribs were dry, smothered in a bottled sauce, perhaps? Parts of the ribs used were rib ends, mostly of soft bones and cartilage. The $27 dessert looked like a dessert from a box in the supermarket freezer section. If you are short-staffed, you could trim the menu and make it more manageable. The 1 star is for the poor food mostly. When I went to pay, the meal has not been entered on the register. I hope things improve staffing and food wise.
Never have we ever had such bad service anywhere! Absolutely disgusted. Do better. We are locals and will not be returning. Charging people for drinks they never received because your staff are terrible at their jobs. Feel bad for the chef food was awesome but sadly your service will turn your restaurant into a ghost town.
