What an unbelievable place to visit...My daughter took me here in December. We spent the entire day here, everything about Monarto Zoo was fantastic. It was like going on safari but without the danger. All the staff from bus drivers, restaurant staff and tour guides were all incredibly nice and informative. We had a wonderful day here, and I would be happy to do it all over again if I get to Adelaide in the future.

What an amazing place to visit! Despite the fact it was drizzling I really enjoyed my visit. The animals were really active because of the cooler weather. My friend did the lion360 and raved about it. I really want to do it as soon as I can. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The highlight for me was getting to see the male lions being fed and seeing the Cheetah. Wear good shoes for walking as there is a bit to do and it is uneven at times. Food from the cafe was good too.

We enjoyed visiting this zoo. It's rather large compared to any zoo's I have been to and the animals are well taken care of. The zoo gives you a feel of safari rather than a typical zoo. The loop bus takes you through different animal zones. You are most likely to encounter animals from a very close range. I was glad to zee some of the endangered animals being bred and taken care of. There is a cafe serving quite tasty food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was a little disappointed because of the delay caused by loop buses, we were stranded in a couple of places waiting for the bus for more than 45 minutes. It was rather busy day though. Given the fact that this zoo is still run effectively by non-profit organization is commendable. There is a lot of space for more animals to be brought in, if only more people visit or become members and if the government steps in with some financial support.

Family friendly, cafe is a bit pricey $40 for two ice teas, two fruit boxes 2 pies and 2 sausage rolls. Buses are regular and your not left waiting for to long even on a public holiday. Toilets are found at most popular stops. All in all though a great day out

This zoo was a lot closer from Adelaide than I anticipated. It has lovely African plain where we always visit to have quiet & peaceful lunch. Do bring picnic lunch as the place is huge and if you become hungry while you look around it'd take some time to get back to restaurant area. The restaurant sells roast of the day, which isn't cheap but I think it's worth the money, very tasty roast and healthy and gaumet. Don't buy water fete vending machine but buy it from the cafe as the money you spend in cafe goes to good cause whereas the vending machine doesn't. They don't have any drinking water available unless you want to drink rainwater so bring plenty of water if you don't want to spend $5 for 600ml My Franklin.
