Definitely one of my all time favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff are very nice and professional. Meals are served very promptly, well almost to quickly, as you don’t have time to absorb the wonderful feel of this place. Food is outstanding and I’m never disappointed every time I go. There does seem to be a disparity between the serving sizes on the sashimi platter though, one time I was very pleased and the next time I received a much smaller portion of the same dish. Prices are very fair for the quality.
Excellent and efficient staff. Beautiful Japanese themed restaurant. Our first time to Order the Sukiyaki Package for two people. The meat was succulent and tasty. The broth of the sukiyaki was authentic. One of the male staff was very helpful and his knowledge made our dining experience very pleasant. If you love good Japanese food and great service, this is not a place to miss.
Situated at a corner of a busy street, this Japanese fusion place has good vibes, good food & good service! Service is quick & attentive, atmosphere is chilled & relaxed; whilst the food is generally decent! The tastes here is not of the familiar ones you have at other Japanese restaurants so it’s quite refreshing. They also have a sushi train inside as an option! Dishes that stood out were seared Wagyu Melt & alburi salmon! Their cocktails any one were also a highlight! Slight downside is the difficulty in finding parking around the vicinity & that the price point leaned to the higher side for what it’s worth! Would recommend though!
Nice environment and food arrived quickly. I really love the Plum Rose, fresh and a bit sweet. We have ordered the Wagyu Melt, their best seller, which is very tasty. We also ordered the tempura veggie and Sukiyaki set for two. To be honest, the Sukiyaki set is too salty and the quality is average. In general, a nice place to go if you want to have a causal meal.
Loved the decor and the atmosphere. Staff was friendly. Food was average. Had both sushi train and al carte.
Besides the Waiter who "took" our order and actually never did anything resulting in unnecessary wait and a reorder from another waiter. It was a pleasant experience. It is a little on the pricey side with small portions but it was delicious.
I enjoyed the izakaya style food. Something different compared to normal japanese cuisine. Loved the homemade umeshu. Managed to try a wide range of food, definitely will go back for more. However, we were kinda disappointed with the service. Had to wait for awhile before we got the menu.
Not too impressed, staff wasn’t very well aware of the products on the menu. They were finding it a bit hard to explain the products on the menu. Ordered quiet a few plates from the menu some were really good and some weren’t A couple of things that we ordered weren’t available which staff didn’t know of straight away so came back to us after 20 mins to replace that with something else Over priced too, there are other options in the surrounding that is basically same quality but better price Environment was good
Slowly exploring more of #paddingtoneats, this time with a visit to Moga in Rosalie thanks to a Groupon voucher for 10 plates of sushi for $39. Fun fact 1: moga means "modern girl", a reference to Japanese women who followed Westernized fashions and lifestyles in the after World War I. Fun fact 2: Rosalie is a former suburb of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Since 1975, it has been a neighbourhood within the suburb of Paddington. Our order of sushi plates: * N03 almond cheese salmon $4.70 * N05 salmon supreme $5.00 * N07 flamed tuna $4.70 * N09 flamed scallop $4.70 * N16 unagi nigiri $4.50 * R17 spicy prawn $5.00 * H04 crab claw $5.00 * H07 karaage $6.00 * H08 tatsuta fry $6.50 * H12 chicken gyoza $7.90 Also added a plum yakitori chicken 2 skewers for $8.50 from the robata grill section of the a la carte menu - grilled free range chicken breast, sea salt, tangy plum mayonnaise. My favourites from this meal were the almond cheese salmon something different to the typical conveyor sushi offerings and the crab claw hot out of the fryer and full of crab meat. Least exciting were the gyoza more below and the skewer good for the first bite or two but then the dryness from the breast meat becomes apparent. No luck finding this info online beforehand, but turns out, there are 11 different prices for sushi plates at Moga, ranging from $3.50 to $7.90. The only $7.90 item happens to be chicken gyoza, and whilst there was no way we would order 10 plates of that to maximise our savings, I figured we'd at least try one to see why it's the most expensive plate. I still don't know the answer to that question Ok to be fair it was fine, as in pretty on par with most gyoza I've had. I just don't find eating gyoza anywhere near as satisfying as potstickers / pan fried dumplings. Anyways our total sushi order was worth $54, so saved $15 or close to 30% with the voucherFor anyone interested, this deal with 5/10/15 plate options is still available.
Well worth looking at the A la carte menu. The service is always very good as is the chef. Inside the main building is a sushi train and bathroom. Moga would have to be one of the better Japanese restaurants in Brisbane. A must try! Parking is on street which can be a little difficult, dine early is a good ideas to avoid missing out. And Moga is easy access for strollers and wheelchairs.
