Beautiful, classy restaurant. The food and wine were excellent and the service professional. The only let-down for me and I understand they were busy was the 50 minute wait between the entree and the main. Fortunately, we had allowed plenty of time ahead of our show, so it didn't spoil the experience for us.Food: 5/5
Loved everything about dinner at Modo Mio - but the 100day old aged steak was absolutely sublime !! So tender, perfectly seasoned, and huge … it’s definitely a meal to be shared. The duck fat potatoes were done to perfection also. The service was great. Make sure you have your COVID vaccine certificate on you - if you can’t show it, you don’t get in.
Fantastic spot! Finally had the chance to try Modo Mio and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest! I had the Tagliatelle with lamb and truffle pecorino in a delicious tomato sauce, and the rest of the table also had some crazy tasty dishes! Definitely regret not getting photos of all of them! The side dish with thin purple and orange carrots was incredible, and the duck fat potatoes with rosemary were to die for! And the white chocolate martini with a glace cherry was super delicious! Can't forget to mention the free champagne because it was the birthday of one of the people at my table! Can't ever go wrong with a free bubbly! Dry and fruity, delish!
I've read a mixture of good and bad reviews here and I thought ahh it might be ok as there seems to be more good reviews than bad ones. So we decided to try this place couple of months ago. Food was plated nicely and service was fine. Hubby said pizza was not bad. I had lobster mosaic and was disappointed. It looks interesting but the taste was not impressive. Had the fish and it was so-so. Tiramisu was so-so too. Ciao Italia's Tiramisu is a lot better and cost less. This place is just not worth the price for average tasting food. We were expecting 5 star food for that price. Better to go Nobu or Rockpool for this price. We'll not go back unless they improve on the food. Should have trusted the bad reviews here.
How do I begin...? We waited for longer than expected but that was fine. The worst thing about this restaurant is the food. It doesn't seem authentic at all. Every aspect of the food was simply an insult to the local fellow Italians. The meat could have been seasoned well. They also ruined a good piece of meat and only deep-fried it and it was over $40. The spaghetti just tasted like a noodle stir fry with salt and stir fry, nothing special at all. It was also very salty. The only thing I like about the food is the fresh olives. To add on, the staff looked confused. As a waitress in a restaurant, the service was just fine, but not up to standards. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant.
Me and Partner went to A Modo Mio at Crown - I was a bit dubious being italian I shy away from italian food occasionally wanting to try new foods. We ordered the fillet and some broccolini with pecorino liked the unusual mix and some octopus. The fillet was decent but nothing to remember- the octopus was the best the truffle flavours made it memorable and a must when visiting again. We received the best service from one of the waitresses pity I don't remember her name - she was petite and very timely in her Service - with a capital S - she was wearing a mask just in observance to Government Guidelines. If you go for a Special Occasion our was - Birthday you won't be disappointed.
Great service. We had the Lobster Mosaic lobster was sweet for entree. Spaghetti Principe di Napoli with lemon, clams, colatura di alici di cetara pasta was cooked aldente but the taste was on the mild side and Filetto Capriccio XXIV-black angus beef fillet, prosciutto di parma, fois gras, truffle and passito sauce beef was cooked perfect to rare for mains. For dessert we had the Italic - three chocolate mousse tower, pear sauce and rum ice creamdelicious and cheese -Ash blonde served with fig compote, walnuts and honey the cheese was really creamy.
I do not say this lightly, but the food was awful and overpriced. I would gladly pay premium price for good food. But, I ordered the beef fillet and it was dry and completely flavorless. I only managed to eat about half, and I am not one to leave steak on my plate. My husband ordered the pork chop and he said it was also flavorless. There were not really any great options for lunch, which was also disappointing.
The decor is nice and the vibe was busy, cosy and popular with older generation families and friends. Unfortunately for $60-80 per head the food was small, below average and barely warm at serve. The service was a bit lacking, it was hard trying to call for a server. We also had to ask for water a couple of times as the waitress forgot. For a minimum spend of at least $60-80 per head I was expecting better food and service.
$55 two-course lunch was delicious. Veal entree and pork fillet main. Though the serves look small, they are satisfying. The service is outstanding, the decor beautiful. Lovely wines on offer. Would definitely go back again.
