This restaurant is located right above a large Indian grocery store with a really good selection, which is always a promising sign.nThe menu has plenty of classic North Indian options. I was craving some authentic Indian street food and ordered several entrees that really hit the spot. The flavors were rich and everything tasted great. The portions were generous and filling too. The indoor setting is cozy and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the meal.
Visited Mirch Masala at Woolloongabba, Brisbane 200 km from home and bought a few items. They have a good range of Indian groceries, frozen food, masalas, sweets, utensils, and pooja items. But was very disappointed to find I was overcharged for Mysore Pak. It was labelled $17.50 for 500g, but I was billed $39.99/kg as Kaju sweet. This kind of carelessness is unacceptable. The person labelling sweets needs to be more accurate and responsible. It feels unfair and dishonest. Customers should be able to trust what’s displayed. Not a pleasant experience. Hence, just 2 stars.
As an Indian living in southern hemisphere I miss home cooking.nMirchh Masala has that in spades.nWe didn’t go for any of the main dishes, but hit the starters and sharers hard.n- pani poorin- dahi masalan- samosasn- chole bhaturen- mango lassin- chain- limcannThe flavours of the chole were insane and tasted like my grandmother used to make.nThe bhatura itself was hot and delicious.nPani poori was a delight- great corriander pani.nDahi poori was delicious as well.nnPortions were generous and prices were really good value for money.nnYou’re not here for 5star service or a Michelin dining experience, but the taste of the food is impeccable and I implore anyone missing Mumbai street food to come and enjoy.
Excellent food and comes with the relief of being a pure veg facility. Restraunt is tidy and welcoming with long opening hours. Have tried their Chhola Bhatura and Masala Dosa, both exceeded expectations. Lookimg forward to teying more. One also has the option to buy Indian groceries from their store on ground floor.
Great food if you choose well, quick service at less busy times, and given the crowds at busy times even the long waits aren’t bad. The atmosphere is pure contemporary India. Fun and an excellent lunch.
