Great school, many great teachers, and they all cared. I love the school and it still brings back memories to this day. With the occasional pizza day, or even a doughnut day, it was always fun. Miss the school, and most of the teachers most is the key word there
Middle Ridge State School is overall an amazing school. Yes, there isn't a whole load of money, as it is such a big school and is a government school, BUT it makes up for this through the excellent staff, education, opportunities and friendliness! I graduated there about 5 years ago and now attend a private school... and to be honest, middle ridge provided a much better learning environment then my private one. Middle Ridge also sets their students in grade 6 up for high school through class rotations and books swaps. All the MRSS kids that went to my private high school were very prepared in comparison to all the other new students. They have loads of fun camps and reward those students who deserve rewards for good behavioural efforts through treat days and camps. The parents on the P n C are kind and are eager to help, although it would be nice if more parents got involved. It is overall an amazing school, and any student who goes there is extremely lucky and fortunate!
As a student I used to go to this school and personally, it wasn't all that bad. We had the occasional pizza day for a lunch break and the other occasional hot chips day. The rules seemed kind of unjust, as there was no scale of punishment level, it was simply all the same, just a difference in days. The camps we went on were fun, just a bit to expensive for what they were worth, still giving a good experience. The teachers really play a part in your education as with any school, however it still is within education qld guidelines. I had access to many resources during my 7 years at this school and they were, decent. With most science resources on the verge of breaking or broken already, the written or typed resourced dirty and the laminating coming apart. Still, the teachers did go the extra mile a lot to help us with our work and learning, with some pushing me and my friends on occasion to the verge of a mental breakdown My grade 6 teacher of 2021 All in all, on the 29/12/2021 The 20th day after graduation as I'm writing this I'm remembering all the good memories with my friends I had there. As a final note, this school is pretty good. If you don't count Ms Walsh
There are some ridiculous reviews here, so I feel compelled to clarify some things. Mr Barron, is a wonderful principal who cares for all of his students equally and makes an effort to get to know the parents, welcoming and farewelling everyone at the school gates every morning and afternoon with a warm smile. He has gone above and beyond in our personal experience with the school, so much so, he deserves an award. As for the office ladies, they are nothing but lovely and professional. The teachers that we have had so far are also great, wonderful even. This is reflected through the students, who in my experience when I visit the school, are all so well behaved, as if they want to make their teachers happy.
Good school. Just their bully policy that’s an absolute joke. Had an issue last year with a group of year 6 students physically harming my son. And the group still all got to go on their year 6 camp and we were told that the bad behaviour doesn’t come into affect till semester 2. Sports is lacking as well. Too much money goes into music Good teachers. Nice ground just needs that little bit more put into it to make it a great school
It was a great school when I enrolled my first child five years ago. Sadly, that was the last year that Mr McSweeney was the principal. It seems that more and more people from outside of the catchment now go to this school. Which sadly affects parking and also the caliber of the education. I went to East Toowoomba and can honestly say that some of the students at Middle Ridge are of the same manner as those who live in Rockville or Harlaxton. Seeing some of the parents that come to collect their children, I'd expect they probably do live there and travel all that way to give their children a better chance in life. God bless them for trying but I didn't spend half million buying a house in the catchment only for it to eventually turn into the next Woodridge or Beenleigh. The new Principal better get his hand off it and get his house in order.
Wanted to enroll my Daughter in this school. The woman in the office was rude and arrogant. The principal is not much better! I had heard from many Chinese families that they had experienced some racism at the school form staff and students. In the end I put my daughter in a private school just to get her away from these egotists.
