I was very disappointed going into Michel’s early this morning. Firstly, when I walked in I said ‘Good morning’ to the man behind the counter but he did not respond…. possibility because he had one ear bud in his ear so he was probably listening to his favourite music. He just came up behind the till expecting me to order. So I repeated ’Good morning’ , finally he greeted me. I think it is polite to greet a customer when they enter your place of business not just take their money for goods or a service. Secondly when I visited the bathroom provided it was filthy. The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a month. It was disgusting. Then I looked on the racks where the food was being displayed and it looked like it hadn’t been wiped out in a week. I don’t know when this business changed hands but it is obvious that it has. I’ll never return. One star.
The cafe has a new owner, the services are better now! I used my entertainment card for buy one coffee get one free!
My husband & I stopped at Michel's Patisserie, Firle, today on our way to an appointment. It wasn't terribly busy - it was about 10.15 a.m., but there was a queue at the counter. I was quite bemused to see that 1 scone with jam & cream cost $7.50 - I hoped it would be a large scone! An elderly lady, who had already had her order taken, came up to the girl who was serving at the counter, to ask where her sausage roll was. The girl spoke in a rather nasty tone to the lady & told her she would bring it to her when she had finished serving the person at the counter. I can only assume that this poor lady had been waiting for some time already, but she smiled politely & sat down at her table. We decided not to stay & we found a lovely little cafe, called Dolcetti Espresso Bar, just a bit further up Glynburn Road where the service was great & the food & coffee were excellent - & not at prices that would break the bank!
My wife and I ordered a chichen schnitzel each. When it came out, and started eating it, we noticed the chicken was raw on the inside. We asked for a new one. However, instead of a new meal, all they had done is chucked the chicken in the oven for a couple of minutes and thrown it back on the plate. We didnt even get new cutlery. And still, there were still parts raw. Really dissapointing. Wont be going back.
Worst bacon and egg sandwiches in Adelaide. Toasted, unbuttered bread, a hard poached egg and one thin slice of bacon. Amazingly dry and tasteless. It's as if they've never eaten or seen one themselves and make them based on a description they half overheard while walking past a real Cafe.
Popped in to Michel's Firle today and ordered a 'lactose' free hot chocolate. As I drank it I did wonder if the correct milk had been used. Within about 30 minutes I knew they had used normal milk as I was suffering with lactose intolerance symptoms. This is a terrible mistake and they should be ashamed of themselves. Thanks for ruining my afternoon. I will never come back. Also, all the food on display looks old and stale as well as being extremely overpriced. Close your doors or dramatically improve your business!
RAW chicken!! Took it back once, they brought the same plates, cutlery and chicken back... was still pink and raw. The gentleman serving us didn't seem at all fazed or shocked that the chicken was so badly raw. Please do yourself a favour and avoid this place.
We understand it is the holiday period and nobody wants to be at work but my family and I came in this afternoon for a late lunch and were given horrible service, a staff member took pastries out of the counter in front of us whilst we were looking at buying them and then said they were trying to pack up to close yet weren't closing for another hour and 15mins. We were then served some eggs that one was off and the staff tried to deny it rather than even apologising. Our steak Sandwhich bread was as hard as a rock... Such a terrible franchise, will never visit a Michels again.
Store as any franchise carry’s the great products one would expect. Can’t beat the taste . Good coffee and fresh cakes. Service is poor on the 3 times I’ve been . Greeting is a 0 , enthusiasm 0, seems like staff don’t like their jobs.
I work in retail and previously in hospitality and I have never seen such atrocious customer service me and my work colleagues were asked to leave simply because 2 of them didn't order in store during a rain storm, any other day I would not mind but the managers complete lack of understanding or flexible left me with a sour taste in my mouth it's official this cafe does not care about it's customers only about money. I would not recommend bringing colleges or friends here as we did not receive a warm reception
