Unfortunately on their website they did not say that their coffee corner was closed and that you were Not able to buy a Metrocard. I gave some advise to my family to by it there in the morning, but it was closed for a longer period of time. 
I see that by today they did update their website, but I would like to know any update on when the shop opens again, if my family is able to buy a Metrocard next week and what the opening & closing times are?

This is a great place to wait for your bus especially if you wake very early in the morning in a cold winter. It keeps you warm and relaxed.
