The check in for the baggage was quick and easy and the train was really good with the 4 seating everywhere so my family could sit together. The view was crazzyyy good and we saw so many animals like Dolphins,seals,llamas,black swans,sheep etc. I loved the mountain view of the sea and my kids had so fun counting all the seals on the way. I also liked that you could listen about the area around you. I loved the back wagon where it was open with a rail and you could see out better. Probably the best train experience I've had.
Scenic tour to Arthur’s Pass, two hours trip didn’t feel that long with amazing view through the big windows. The train also serves hot food on the catering car. Suggest to go check in earlier to avoid the tour crowds.
Fine facilities. Could be a bit bigger since it was packed for our 7AM Coastal Pacific, but they don’t run often so they don’t usually need it larger.
Awesome station for trainspotters. Especially the tranzalpine. If your riding to Greymouth, confirm your on the RIGHT side of the train. When returning to Christchurch from Greymouth, the left side is the best.
