Stumbled on this little gem when on a dog walk. And what a stunner. Great coffee roasted on site, if you love coffee be there when they roast it, that aroma… I have never tasted such great tasting coffee that has a bitter twist to it and you can tell it’s fresh. Local farm fresh milk/dairy available. Food is locally sourced and all made in house. The bacon baguette was crammed full of meat!. Although it may appear cramped when busy, everything is comfortable and you can take you dogs. Seating outside available to watch the hustle and bustle of the marina works however, you have to pay for the parking. First 1/2 free then £1 per hour after. This is a fine little hang out whilst on a stroll or paddle.
Great News, great news…. MERMAIDS COFFEE SHOP now back ‘in residence’ at Universal Marina. After transitioning through a mobile coffee outlet from a van they are now back in their previous building… just like the ‘good old days’ …. Same comfortable seating, same excellent coffee and cakes. Best wishes to Johno and team… look forward to the return of the log burning stove . Popped in this morning, latest photo sat outside with the dog
Great coffee and cakes! Brownies to die for ! Lovely location and friendly staff! Also, they roast their own coffee beans, which are for sale! I’ve just had one of the best mocha’s ever, made with their own chocolate sauce What’s not to like!
Had a delicious impromptu lunch. Popped in for a cuppa and was so tempted by the quiche and salads I had to eat. Everything was fresh and tasty, combined with friendly service. A lovely discovery on our walk. Will return!
This was our first visit to Mermaids, super bacon baguette, lovely coffee, staff really helpful and friendly, great if you like dogs. fantastic log fire, really warm and cosy on a cold day. Will definitely be visiting again.Food: 5/5
The tastiest flat white and with river hamble views - what's not to like. Highly recommend Mermaids for great coffee and so perfectly placed for a river stroll pit stop.
Always stop here after a long bike ride, Nice place to stop in the middle of swanwick Shore and warsash.Food: 5/5
Just to be clear my scoring system: 1/ Don't go, just don't. 2/ I can't recommend going 3/ I enjoyed it but probably won't go back 4/ I enjoyed it, would go back especially if invited 5/ I enjoyed it, would invite others there myself I'm definitely a regular here!

A very welcome stop when walking the river Hamble. It's very popular so room inside is at a premium, outside seating is available, never not found a seat.Food: 5/5
