Service is horrific!nZero explanation about the divided lifts and the floors they service.nWrong information given about the opening times of the local shopping centre & I order additional alcoholic drinks from room service and none were delivered!nThe parking is also precarious as it’s an open car park attached to the hotel and the general public can park there too. It just leaves your car more acceptable to break ins.
Customer service needs to be improved.nnWe were told that our room was missed by room service. We only stayed 2 nights so that meant we did not receive any room service. We paid for our room expecting room service, but we were not offered any compensation for their mistake.nnReception should let guests know if there's available WiFi and that amenities are on request only. We were not told any of this upon check in.
Hotel checkout is 10am which is ridiculous. Times have moved on. Breakfast is woeful. For a new hotel it’s like being transported back to 1999 in some respects. Fruit selection is three different types of melon, long wait for hot food to be replenished. Everything is done using the cheapest ingredients possible. Rooms are nice but get warm and only way to cool them down is using aircon which is set to auto so is very noisy. I wouldn’t stay here again.
Outside the city of Canberra, if you're lucky you can see some of City Hill. The rooms are comfortable enough, probably not worth the price though! Don't eat the food, it costs even to drink bottled water.
Exceptionally poor customer service. Have you heard about a hotel that doesn’t allow the general public to pay to have their breakfast? Well - Belconnen Mercure reception staff - both of them refused my son, my husband and myself for breakfast this morning. They advised it is only for hotel guest only. It’s my first time hearing that. A hotel rejects general public who is willing to pay for breakfast. My husband and I were so in shock and disappointed. There is no where on The Mercure Belconnen website mentioned breakfast for hotel customers only. Which hotel doesn’t want extra money? Well….Mecure Belconnen. Don’t go there as they have unbelievable rules and no common sense, rude staff….turning potential customers away.
