Perfect hidden gem for a weekday bite. Monday night steak special was a great deal + the food was great, steak cooked perfectly & portions sizes were good. Service was super friendly, will definitely be back with a few extra friends!
Four of us ate at the Bistro on Wednesday 4/2/26.nWhile I was waiting outside the Bistro the staff member who wasnchecking the bookings offered a typed menu to me.nWhen the other members of our dinner party B, C and D arrived they alsonwere given the typed menu on entry to the Bistro,nThe typed menu listed about 14 choices at a very reasonablenprices.nAs that menu didn’t say specials, seniors meals or members prices, Inthought that it was the only menu and was limited to choices duento being mid-week.nB chose the roast pork, C the brisket pie with mashed potato,nD and I went for the veal scallopini.nUpon ordering we were asked if we were members. Saying nonmy cost for two meals was $63 as the price on the menunwas for members only. I believe B and D’s was $68.nPaying that much I would have expected to be offered the smallndinner rolls for free not $1.50 each. Ned Kelly wasn’t that bad.nWhilst waiting for our meals I noticed three other tables withnthe normal menu. Two things came to mind.n1. Why weren’t we given the normal menu as we entered the bistro and,n2. Why wasn’t the normal menu on each table?nWe may have ordered something different with an entree or dessert!nAs for the quality of the meals:nThe pie has 3 small pieces of meat but mostly gravy and no bacon.nThe pie was hot but the mashed potato was cold.nI didn’t ask B how his roast was but he left some of thenpork.nBoth the veal dinners were the same. Veal was tough and barely warm,nthe chips were cold.n4 customers lost.
Visited a couple of weeks ago. The little bistro needs some loving. Our Parmi's were very ordinary and dry. Kind of feels like you are in a retirement home.
Hadn't realised this was an RSL club until we walked in the entrance and had to use our licences to register.nIt was very busy and quite noisy as they have events happening on Monday and Thursdays.nThe staff member who dealt with us was great.nWe chose from the seniors menu and were very happy with the meals. Pricing was better than other establishments.
Service was average apprantely the bloke was new but no one was training him on the till putting the meals through he had to keep going and asking staff questions took about 15 - 20 minutes for him to serve 3 people and they were only small orders nothing over $50. Took a couple of minutes to get noticed at the bar as well. No other customers standing there when I first got there a lady came up to bar about 2 minutes later and said I was there first. Then she got served and spilt her drink all over the floor took them about 20 minutes to clean it up. Now the kitchen no problem there got meals in about 15 minutes. Got battered flathead fish and chips it was good and got a garlic bread which was average. The pricing was alright $12.50 for the fish $9 for garlic bread and $3.70 for softdrink all without a member card. Toilets were clean and the restaurant.
