Absolute disgraceful service from the staff rostered on Monday night i.e. 17th March 2025. The drama started from the point when I picked up my racket that was given to them for re-stringing and within first 3 minutes of playing the game the strings were broken again. I quickly rushed back and showed this guy the condition and his words were we can fix it but not for free, I said to him that I literally just got the racket from you and within 3 minutes it is broken again and mind you I am a regular at this place for last 2 years. We book our court regularly on Monday and Tuesdays every week. Anyways, his response was that if the shuttle hits this part of the racket it always breaks the strings, funny bit is that he is pointing the top middle part of the racket. Anyways, later on after insisting on the matter he agreed and said we will re-string it once again but if that happens again we won't do it and I made a comment that any service on the racket should have some warranty. To avoid further issues, we agreed on them to re-string and move on. However, the same guy to upset us decided to shut the lights 10 minutes before our end time, making up the story that we had only booked the court for an hour whereas we have been booking every Monday for 1.5hrs for past two years. He just wanted to pick an argument, he then returned my racket and said we don't want your business.nnI am speechless with the arrogance this guy had and yes there are limited options to play badminton but I would rather pick another sport than going back to this arrogant stingy place.nnI know this review is not going to make much difference as there are very limited places in the area to play badminton but I am furious while writing this and I wanted to let it out of my system.
Melbourne UBC is hands down one of the best badminton centres around! The courts are top quality, well-maintained, and there’s plenty of space to play. The atmosphere is great, with friendly staff and a welcoming community. Whether you’re a casual player or more competitive, this place has everything you need. Highly recommend!
Extremely bad customer service, guy shut the lights while we were playing and doesn't even apologize rather he showing attitude and getting very aggressive, we all felt he is just being rasist and showing no respect towards his customers. We have been playing here for last 2 years! Business owner should look into this very seriously or else you will loose all your customer with this kind of attitude! I will never go back to place
The receptionist was so rude and unprofessional. We called and booked a court a few hours ago, and when we called back to change the timing she didn't pick up. We got there after 30 minutes and she was too busy talking on the phone with her friend and didn't even acknowledge us, while we just stood there waiting. After she got off the phone, she charges us $32 for an hour and tells us we can only play for 20 minutes coz we were late but we tried calling many times and we were directed to voicemail!? Then she tells us we can do table tennis and charges us for that but we came for badminton and didn't have tennis equipment and we had to pay more to rent it. When we asked for a refund, she just handed us the rackets. They are just trying to rip you off. Management needs to teach her manners and professionalism.nOther than that, the courts are good. Lots of parking space. But need to hire staff who can understand English and do the job properly.
A lot of courts here, place is generally pretty clean, quality of the floor is good, good lighting, gets a bit stuffy in the summer but good overall
