Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but inside it’s great for a 200 plus event. I came here for a candlelight concert and was the perfect setting for this type of event. If you’re lucky, the parking outside is free after 6:30pm. Only criticism I have are the toilets are a bit out of the way, and they don’t have a proper bar they have a make shift bar as seen pic 5.
This is a place for the arts. I attended a performance for the Youth Theatre that Mt son attends. Small space. Very limited seating. Parking is good after 6.30 around queensberry Street and Howard Street. Before 6.30 is 2 hour parking.
Love this place but limited seating for productions. I was there for my sons' plays and it was a small space when compared to other places. Parking is ok after or just before 6.30. You can park at 5 or so and be ok.

Just watched Christmas in Candlelight Orchestra today. The place is large enough for an orchestra performance. The temperature inside was a bit humid. We got seat A. 3rd row from the stage. Since all of the seats are on the same level, visibility is not that good. I did not fully enjoy the view of the candlelight on the stage and the quartet performance. Orchestra's music was OK. I think it's better to watch an orchestra in theatre.
More intimate view of the stage. Sound is superb and not ear ringing. Long walk for toilet.
A wonderful venue for the Young Australian Broadway performance we saw. Comfortable on a stinking hot day. Intimate stage area with a good view regardless of your seat.
The Meat Market is a wonderful mixed-use arts venue located in North Melbourne. I have seen art exhibits, theatre, and music here. Unassuming from the outside, transformative on the inside. It has air conditioning & bathrooms, but not always snacks/drinks, so you can make use of other venues nearby. Close to the cafes, pubs and clubs of North Melbourne too. A range of limited and ticketed parking on surrounding streets, take note of signs. You can catch public transport tram, bus or cycle, though North Melbourne can be hilly.
The Melbourne Alternate Designers Showcase on sat 19th was utterly spectacular. This venue was perfect for the event
We saw Into the Woods here. I was not previously aware of this venue I live in Sydney but it is a great space for performances and a really interesting repurposed building.
