Our favourite neighbourhood cafe most definitely! Their chicken & avo is by far the best I’ve had within their menu. If you haven’t already, please do yourself a favour and try them out. Beautiful coffee always served with a friendly smile. Couldn’t recommend enough. Thank you Team McKinley.
Cheesesteak Toastien Belly Bennyn Caprese BagelnnMckinly Eatery is a friendly, neighbourhood cafe located on Belmore Road in Balwyn. They offer creative brunch dishes and coffee the @goodfoodguide once even named 1 of the 5 best in Victoria. The kitchen is headed by chef and proud owner Kenneth.‍nnCoffee is by @allpress and chai @pranachai. We tried a few of their best sellers, our favourite being the Cheesesteak Toastie, which featured sous-vide beef, green sauce and American smoked cheese. The beef itself could have been more flavourful, but all together it worked. It is huge, this and a bowl of fries could tie two people over. nnThe Belly Benny is another one of their most popular dishes, with a cheese hollandaise, chilli oil and glazed pork belly. The pork was super tasty, charred and on the fatty side, the cheese hollandaise was nice on its own but I didn’t enjoy the pairing. Eggs were perfectly poached. The Caprese Bagel was a reliable choice, I just craved something fresh as the basil was in the form of pesto. nnThe venue is a cute, welcoming space, the branding is on point. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating. A great option for the area, which has only been open for 1.5 years, only to improve further with time.nn “The Breakfast Club” runs 7:30-10am Monday-Friday which can get you $11 Egg and Bacon on Toast.nn 3.5/5n $$
I'm a bit of a food adventurer and have a very small list of places I would happily revisit.nnMcKinly Eatery has made that list. I've been here a few times now and every single visit has been a fresh new food experience that left me impressed each time. The diversity of the menu is exciting yet considered without compromising execution at all. Each meal was wonderfully cooked.nnWhen I'm not eating here I'm getting a coffee and it has never disappointed. What I respect about this establishment is their consistency to provide a wonderful product top to bottom from the food to the service. Expect a friendly, endearing and personable staff member to get you sorted here. It's always service with a smile. The passion and positivity the owners have for their cafe can definitely be felt and it's a bit infectious. In the best way.nnDecor and interior is very cute and charming. I'm a sucker for green so this place always makes me feel very cosy.nnIf you're in the area definitely give McKinly a shot! If you're not in the area I would say it's worth a visit for quite a few of their menu items.
Love the food and coffee! Staff is so friendlynWe have been here many times and never disappointed. Highly recommend.
My new fave cafe! We've been here a few times now and have ordered for drinks the chai latte, iced chocolate and iced matcha latte, all perfectly brewed and good temperature. The iced chocolate which is home made chocolate syrup is so decadent. For mains we've tried the pork belly benedict, eel chilli scramble and the cheese steak sandwich, all sensational. The presentation was lovely and all were super delicious. The staff are great and the owner who is also the chef is very friendly. Happy customer
