Really tasty fish and chips, lovely and fast service. Overall it was a really good experience and we really enjoyed our meal :
They were very busy, given it was Good Friday and so expected a wait which was fine. However they were totally disorganised. Ordering for the family, our order was in 2 parts. The first part we got in 20 mins. The 2nd 35 mins later. Needless to say the first was cool and soggy. Ordered a chicken schnitzel burger in each lot - the first got a hamburger instead. The second asked for no tomato or mayo - you guessed it, came with both!. Orders were flung everywhere- some clipped on the fridge, others on the ledge, floor, even in the fridge and all messed up. Need to have a process or don't open on such a busy day. Lots of people were complaining about waits, missed orders or wrong orders.
Gets absolutely rammed by Uber Eats drivers who seem to get priority. Food sits in the bain marie, ready to go, but they don't take names when you order so, impossible to know if your order is ready. You're at the will of the staff as to whether your order will be given to you fresh.nnOrders also run late.nnUnderstandably it's not easy to run a busy shop with 3 staff, but things could be improved by:nn- taking names when you order and calling them when they're readyn- getting food orders out as soon as they're readyn- more staffn- stop prioritizing UberEats.nnFish and chips aren't cheap anymore - standards need to lift.
Potato cake review: a slightly dense and claggy batter which makes me think these are not made in house by the shop. The potato to batter ratio is good, with a slim to moderate cut of potato.nnThe batter seems to crisp up well when fried so not a bad time overall.nnNo comments about the oil freshness as there was not enough evidence to confirm if fresh or old.nnI would eat these again if I was in the area but I wouldn’t drive an additional distance for these specifically.
Food is amazing all the times I have visited. However, please put more chicken salt on the chips. It is lacking.
