I visited McDonald’s Preston in June 2026 with some friends before heading to the drive in movies in Coburg. Like most McDonald’s locations, it has a decent sized car park, and despite there being plenty of cars around when we arrived, there was still no trouble finding a spot. It’s also not too far from Bell Station for those using public transport, though there aren’t a huge number of other transport options nearby. We arrived at around 9.45pm on a Friday night and headed inside to order from the self serve kiosks. Everyone grabbed something different, but most of us ended up going with the McSmart Meal, which is probably one of the best value options on the menu at the moment. I wanted a few extras with my order, so I had to head up to the counter to sort those out.nnThe restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, with a large dining area and a McCafe section. There were quite a few people dining in, but it never felt overcrowded. The front counter staff were moving around cleaning tables and tidying up between serving customers. Most of the staff were lovely and helpful throughout our visit. The woman who assisted me with my order was particularly kind. One of the managers seemed a little stressed during what looked like a busy late night rush, but given how hectic it can get on a Friday evening, it’s understandable that he was under a bit of pressure. Our food came out quickly and everything was prepared correctly. I had requested no pickles and extra chocolate fudge sauce, and both changes were done perfectly. The food was fresh, hot, and exactly what I was hoping for. From what I could see, there was also a playground area near the toilets for families, although I didn’t get a proper look as I was waiting near the counter while one of my friends ducked off to use the facilities.nnOverall, this is one of the nicer McDonald’s restaurants I’ve visited. It doesn’t have any standout features that make it dramatically different from other locations, but it does the basics really well. The service was quick, the restaurant was clean, and the food was fresh. If you’re in the area and looking for a reliable feed before a movie, road trip, or late night outing, it’s a solid option.

Not good experience this morning.  I ordered a sausage and egg mcmuffin meal and I got a sausage muffin with NO egg and the coffee is scolding off. Could not contact the store as line was busy.  Really not happy about that.

By far the worst Macca’s I’ve been to in Melbourne. I’ve given this place multiple chances because it’s convenient, and they disappoint every single time!!!!nnI stopped ordering fries from here ages ago because they’re always cold and soggy. This time I got nuggets and they tasted like they’d been cooked in old oil. I’ve worked in hospitality myself, so I know what unfiltered or overdue oil tastes like, and that’s exactly what this was. The nuggets were rock hard, stale, and honestly horrible.nnI’ve put up with it because it’s close by, but I’d rather drive the extra kilometre and get food that’s actually fresh. I get that it’s fast food and I’m not expecting a five-star meal, but there’s a point where it just feels like you’re being ripped off.nnMacca’s isn’t cheap anymore. Feeding two people can easily cost around $40, so the least you can do is serve food that’s hot and fresh.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my recent visit to your restaurant. What should have been a simple and enjoyable experience turned into a complete mess.nnFirst of all, I ordered chicken nuggets and DID NOT RECEIVE ANY. This is unacceptable. I paid for my food and expected to get what I ordered, yet somehow your staff failed to include a basic item. This shows a serious lack of attention and care.nnOn top of that, while I was there, another customer dumped his rubbish everywhere and left without cleaning up. The tables and floor were covered in trash, and nothing was done about it. Your restaurant looked filthy and unprofessional. This is not the standard anyone expects when visiting your store.nnBetween missing food and the disgusting environment, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a fast-food restaurant. I left feeling angry, disappointed, and completely disrespected as a customer.nnI expect this matter to be taken seriously. Your staff need better training, and your store needs to be kept clean and properly managed. Customers should not have to deal with missing orders and messy surroundings.nnI hope you address these issues immediately and improve your service. I deserve an explanation and proper compensation for this experience

I had a really disappointing experience at McDonald’s. I waited over 10 minutes for my order, only to receive food that was cold like it had been sitting around for an hour. Everything was just thrown into the bag — burgers were completely squashed and the chips were dumped at the bottom of the bag instead of in their container.nnTo make it worse, one of the burgers was missing a meat patty, and the rest were honestly just disgusting and poorly made. For a place that’s meant to be fast and consistent, this was nowhere near acceptable. Definitely needs better quality control and care with orders.
