Compact area suitable for young children playing or burning those calories off. Alternatively, have a seat with nice drink and enjoy the local wildlife. If you're adventurous there is always a spot of rock climbing to get involved with. Please investigate to ensure you do it in a safe manner to you and others.
Interesting park, prior to that it was a really stone exploration field, you can see the walls where the rocks were taken. With two bbq areas, seems to be great for an outside party. One decent toilet with a water fountain just in front of it. The tracks were well maintained, however some visitors left their rubbish behind. It could be better if a playground were built there. Heaps of ducks and pulemos. Apart from that, good park to take your small kids.
I love walking through the wetlands, seeing different birds then up the stairs on to the Heritage Trail.
Lovely place but dogs have to be on leads which can make the walks un satisfying
Very nice place to come have a walk with kids or pet and do a picnic. Nice plants and birds and there are also public BBQ and toilets.
Nice, relaxing spot to walk or bike around.
Very clean place with friendly. People
Great place to go for a walk and see some of New Zealand's native birds.
Brilliant nature spot on our doorstep, literally. Kids loved seeing the whale tails there too.
This is a beautiful little spot, hiding at the bottom end of Stonefields. The ponds are home to ducks, pukeko, and the occasional swan. A flax-lined boardwalk meanders through the middle of the ponds. On the edge of the wetlands are a toilet, water fountain, picnic tables, and even BBQ facilities. There's plenty of space for kids to run around safely. It's a great area for a family get-together.
