The best Bang mi in Melbourne, that I have ever actually eaten. It is a meal. They also have great bread baked on site.
Omg, one of, if not the best crispy pork roll i've ever had. Fresh crusty roll. Lots of french inspired pastries on offer as well. Well worth a try!
Excellent bread, love the Wild Rye and Olive bread, and with the in-house roasted beans, they serve great coffee. Gluten free bread is also available. As you would expect, the patisseries including croissants and danishes are yummie. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch, the Friday Humus is highly recommended.
I bought a croissant at Cleo in Elwood and really liked it. So I asked and was told that the croissant was supplied by Matisse. Long story short, made a trek to Matisse and it was worth it! Hummus and shakshuka dish was delicious. Matisse serves it with a side of pickles, baguette bread, and a chili relish kind of dip. Good coffee, wonderful pastries, great service! Excellent sourdough breads - potato and herbs, and the wild rye!
I eat banh mi at least 4 times a week and can say without a doubt this is the best banh mi I’ve had from all over Melbourne. Perfect bread, fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Highly recommend
The sourdough breads are really good.
Amazing croissants! Everything is perfect in them: shape, colour, buttery but not too much! taste, cut-out texture... Highly recommend! Sourdough bread is great as well.
I love this place. Great food and service.
Best almond croissants in Melbourne and outstanding and natural stone-baked sourdough breads, without all the additives one finds in so many so called upmarket bakeries in the posh suburbs...nice to find one artisan bakery, even if in such an unusual place, diagonally across the Moorabbin Wholesale market...no wonder it survived 16 years! Love the olive bread in particular....and their café is excellent between Israeli specialties, wholesome soups and yummy sandwiches...quite a choice. During my gluten-free period, I tried their gluten free bread made with buckwheat...made me think back to my time in France eating delicious buckwheat galettes...gotta say this is a bakery for the people who love and respect food! Highly recommending Matisse!!
Great croissants and tasty bread. They roast their own coffee beans in house. One of the baristas is a bit heavy on the froth sometimes but otherwise the coffee is great.
