Regarding Masada Privates Sleep School/Parenting Centre - I arrived on 17th January and stayed with my 8 month old for 5 nights leaving on 22nd January. Prior to arriving my baby was waking 4-8 times on average overnight seeking breastfeeding for comfort. He was also not linking his day naps and needed assistance falling back asleep the same way. I was extremely sleep deprived and run down, honestly I didn’t realise how much so until I actually had a couple days overnight sleep in a row at the centre! I felt like a new person once I had some sleep. The first couple of nights the staff at Masada do all the resettles both day and night, then from day 3 they include you to learn. Honestly I don’t know what is in the air at this place but THE VERY FIRST NIGHT my boy slept 11-12 hours straight and has slept like this every night since then. We are still learning our way when it comes to naps and resettling as I find the 2 hour cot time difficult, he will do so for one of his naps but not both, but we are slowly learning what works best for us while also using their wake windows, resettle steps and nap times as a guide instead of 100% strict as of course every baby is different as they explained.nnThis place has honestly saved my sanity which is why it gets 5 stars BUT THIS ABSOLUTELY MUST BE NOTED!! I have never in my life slept on a more uncomfortable bed. The staff are already all aware of how terrible they are, so much so that they encourage reviews about them. It was mentioned that they may have gotten a really good cheap deal when they replaced them all hence why they are ROCK hard. Honestly I understand it might be difficult to replace the all again, but for the sake of complaints and honestly just being a decent hospital I have to beg that you invest in even some super cheap foam mattress toppers etc. when I slept here I actually got about 6 pillows and put them under the blankets provided, I then put my doona from home on top and slept on all of this like a pillow fort and requested more blankets for warmth. IF YOU STAY HERE, PLEASE BRING A MATTRESS TOPPER AND YOUR OWN BLANKET. I had seen other comments regarding and thought “surely it’s not that bad” it is. It’s like sleeping on a concrete floor.nnOther than that the food was alright, I’m vegetarian but the options were still decent. The baby food was pretty crap as it was the same thing for every lunch and every dinner some purées and the same steamed veggies or meat if your doing BLW or your baby is good with solids I highly recommend asking for the toddler meals as they we’re atleast half decent!nnI also really need to add that for a centre that is focused on baby sleep, it’s not very baby friendly.nnAll the parent rooms have hospital beds that have lots of wires under them. All the corners in all the rooms are sharp and dangerous. It would honestly cost next to nothing to do a bulk buy online for some safety edges! The same goes for the baby play rooms, all the border entries are incredibly hard and sharp. There is also mirrors on all the walls so the babies go straight into them and head but them.. honestly if you have some spare baby proofing items at home for corners I’d highly recommend bringing them for your room temporarily.nnAgain in any usual circumstances all these things would knock off a couple stars but for the fact that this program has saved me and helped my baby it will still receive 5.nnThank you
I hate hospitals and having to go to them. I recently had a nose septoplasty surgery with an overnight stay at Masada Hospital and I must admit I couldn’t have been taken care of any better. Its staff truly reflect the hospital’s core values of respect and care. Special thanks to the nurse Dalal who patiently, professionally and humanely attended me during my recovery, as well as nurses Patricia and Ken and the entire staff of Masada who made my time a breeze there. Thank you
Honestly, I have so much love and gratitude for everyone at Masada Early Parenting Centre. Not only do you learn some valuable skills, but as a mother I felt so nurtured there. It's a place to recalibrate as a parent, and if you can go, I'd highly recommend.
I had a procedure earlier today. Everyone, from doctors to nurses to reception staff, was lovely. In particular, Sofia on reception, Asher my assigned nurse and Galina my surgical nurse were exceptionally gentle, kind, apporachable and efficient.nnI hope they see this review - please somebody show it to them - because I want them to know how grateful I am. They make a meaningful difference to people at a time when they are vulnerable and scared.
Sleep training at Masada is not evidence-based and so-called medical professionals are practicing in an irresponsible, harmful and dangerous manner. Do your research. There are better approaches to sleep that don't involve CIO.nDr Pam Douglas has done an abundance of research on infant sleep. Her evidence-based approach to sleep has no resemblance to what occurs at Masada.nEven Denmark has banned CIO which is saying something.
