Through Facebook, Council aims to keep you up to date on all the latest news, events as well as other Council initiatives and activities.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In order to provide a positive experience for all users, Council will intervene and remove posts when they are deemed to have breached these terms and conditions.

The terms and conditions include, but are not limited to:
- Comments deemed to be prejudiced, racist, defamatory, offensive, off-topic, irrelevant, repetitive or otherwise inappropriate
- Offensive language (even in abbreviations)
- Harassment or personal attacks on Council or other users
- Speculation or comment on legal matters or legislation
- Revealing or sensitive information about others
- Reposting others’ appeals
- Links to other Facebook pages, any non-government or off-topic page
- Content that constitutes advertising, promotion of commercial interests, solicitation or endorsements or non-governmental products and services
- Comments of a political nature or that could be interpreted as campaigning

During the caretaker period stricter rules will apply to those commenting on the Facebook page.

If you wish to ask a question on a topic not covered in a post or request a formal response from Council please either send us a private Facebook message or email [email protected] or phone 1300 308 461.

Any users found repeatedly breaching these guidelines will be banned from the MSC Facebook page, however Mareeba Shire Council reserves the right to apply immediate bans to users at their discretion.
